Debbie Does Demos: Neutrogena make-up removers

If you’re like me and love to wear long-lasting eyeliner and waterproof mascara, then you’ll know how hard it can be to find a make-up remover that actually gets rid of said products when it comes time to go to bed.

So you can imagine how excited I was when I recently discovered a couple of make-up removing gems from Neutrogena that really do remove all traces of your make-up – within seconds!

But just to prove it to you, I thought I’d put them to the test against another make-up removing brand. Watch on to see the results of my test…

Starring products:

Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover

Neutrogena Make-Up Remover Cleansing Towelettes

Do you find it hard to remove all traces of your make-up?

Have you ever put two products (beauty or otherwise) to the test against each other?

Sometimes, I like a good cleanser that just takes it all off and cleans my skin so with some good ones i only need to double cleanse.... but i find i need to wipe with makeup removing wipes atm none of them are the hard workers i iwish they were!

Great reminder - thanks Deb! I've used the eye makeup remover before and found it didn't completely take off my Lashblast waterproof mascara, however I'm not at all satisfied with the product I'm currently using, so will try it out again using your tips, maybe my technique wasn't quite right.
Haven't ever done a side-by-side test before, but I'm inspired :-)

I used to always find it hard to remove all of my make-up but not now. Since I have been using my latest product I am not changing at the moment. The one you have shown Deb, looks good though. Maybe sometime I will try a test to see if it's better than the one I use.

i love my jojoba oil but am going to admit too lazy to wipe makeup off before washing esp waterproof mascaraa, so i tend to use neutrogena makeup cleansing remover and i love it!!

II prefer my jojoba oil to a makeup remover any day, however I always keep a packet of wipes in my makeup kit and as long as they are alcohol free and work well, along with being affordable then that is all I can expect, these Neutrogena ones are going on my wishlist to try when I run out of my current Australis ones :)
I have put to the test two primers that look identical, using the Clarins on one side of my face and the L'Oreal on the other, as it turned out there was not any major differences, just a few small noticeable indications to separate the two :)

Thanks for the tips Deb, that's a good technique to get mascara off your lashes! I've never put products up against each other, but it's a fun idea.

I use Loreal makeup remover and find it to be the best at getting rid of all traces of makeup without leaving my skin dry. I have never used two products to test against each other. The Neutrogena makeup remover looks like it would do just as good a job. Thanks Deb.

a handy tip- store you wipes upside down so that the product will go to the top wipe, so when you take out the wipe it will be moist and full of makeup remover

I find that no eye make-up remover ever gets rid of ALL traces of mascara. No matter how good the product or how much I use it, there is always a bit of mascara that washes off when I put warm water on my face.

I use the Simple Eye Makeup remover and find that it's one of the most effective ones I've found - I never wear eyeshadow or waterproof mascara though so maybe it's a bit easier. I also have the Givenchy one which is good but a lot more expensive and probably not good enough for the price.

I absolutely love the neutrogena eye make-up remover and the cleansing towelettes, they removed all traces of my make-up soo easily!! Rk2002 I do the same thing with my wipes, but I do it to stop the top flap opening and drying the wipes out, with the wipes had better seals on them.

I use those wipes too! They are so effective, I never travel without them :)

I've never put two products to the test against eachother but I do sometimes find it hard to rid my face of all traces of makeup especially seeing as my skin is some what sensitive too!!

Thanks so much Deb, I,m definitely going toing to be purchasing both the fluid and towlettes, they seem great! I dont wear makeup much, only to occasions. Though I still find it difficult to remove all my makep, and no I havent tested 2 products against each other. This was very clever, thanks again Deb! :)

Wow, the liquid remover is really interesting!! So clever with that dual formula thingo! Haha!
I do love the towelettes though, have used those time and time again. Totally agree with the travel thing, SO handy to chuck in your handbag and freshen up between flights! Or even on long car trips!

I love both of these products - thanks for letting me trial them BH. If I had to choose a favourite though, it would be the oil free eye-makeup remover - it is truly fantastic!

I've had this OIl-free eye make-up remover for a while and am very happy with it. My preferred wipes are Yes To Cucumbers, just lovely.

Currently I use Natio's Eye Makeup Remover and I quite like it! I start off with cleansing oils by Moogoo and then wipe off any leftovers with Natio. Works a treat.

i think i'll give these a try ... i can never fully remove the rest of my eyeliner each time.

i use the Neutrogena cleansing towelettes, but that doesn't remove my waterproof mascara. Only Clinique take the day off for lips eyes and lashes make-up remover removes it more or less completely. But i do love the towelettes, because i wipe my foundation off with it. Finishing with the Extra gentle cleanser, my face is clean and my skin is great.
