Ok, time for some honesty. How often do you wash your make-up brushes? Every week? Every month? Every year? Never?!

Truth is, too many of us are guilty of letting our brushes accumulate product for way too long. And a neglected make-up brush is basically a breeding ground for bacteria, meaning that every time you put that brush to your face, you’re putting your skin at risk.

So for the sake of your skin (and to maintain the longevity of your make-up brush), it’s time to get serious about brush cleanliness. So set an alarm on your phone, write a note in your diary, do anything possible to remind yourself that your brush needs a good clean.

“How often should I clean my brushes,” you ask? Ideally, you should be washing your brushes weekly, but realistically, you shouldn’t leave it more than a few weeks between brush cleaning. The more you get into the habit of cleaning them, the less likely you are to forget to do it (kinda like how you always remember to wash your face every morning and night).
