Glosscars 2012 - Give yourself the Benefit of the doubt...
I am obsessed with make up brushes. The softer more, kitten-paw-like the brushes are, the better. That's why I've amassed a collection that goes well into the double digits. Maybe triple digits. I am really not quite sure. As a result, I am confident that I know a good make up brush. And this little beauty from Benefit simply stands out!
What attracted me to this product is the unusual shape - it's a 2-in-1 brush, with a combination of both a slant and a dome, hence making it brilliant for packing on powder eyeshadow for an opaque finish. The rounded edge also serves as a blender - great for smoothing out harsh lines and sheering out colour. It's clever contour also allows the brush to sit remarkably well in the socket of the eye, so if you have deep set eyes... don't worry, this baby will take care of that in a hurry.
The natural and synthetic hairs are soft and high quality and they don't splay despite repeating washing and use. They have no problem picking up colour as well as minimising eyeshadow fallout. I use this brush with powder shadows, cream shadows, pigments and glitter - and it performs remarkably well with all mediums.
I love the light coloured handle - most companies seem to make brushes with black coloured handles, which makes it quite difficult to find especially if your collection rivals your local cosmetics counter. It's long enough to hold comfortably, but it also easily fits in all my cosmetic bags, brush holders and brush rolls without sticking out (I hate that!).
The price is reasonable - I have purchased poor performing, scratchy, low-end makeup brushes for $20 each...I recommend that you shell out the extra $10 and get your mitts on this high quality, go-to eyeshadow brush from Benefit! One use and you won't look back. Guaranteed.
