The goss on the Giorgio Armani foundation favourite

When I first heard about the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, it was between gushes of ‘oooh’ and ‘yes, it’s my holy grail!’ from my friends in the beauty biz.
I was instantly excited, as I know I (as well as every other red-blooded beauty buff) have been on what seems like the never-ending search for ’the’best foundation. The one we can depend on when a bad-skin-day rolls around or we just really want a flawless face. I knew I needed it in my life.
So when I received my gorgeous new face base from Giorgio Armani, I couldn’t wait to try it. What I soon discovered was this foundation provides the coverage I need without seeming too heavy. In fact it feels pretty light and natural which was a great bonus. It provided a silky-soft, dewy finish that lasted most of the day without becoming oily – a previously unconceivable notion for me!
My blemishes and subtle acne scarring instantly diminished like a blanket covering my face – but without the mask-like effect. I’m a true convert, and so glad I was introduced to what I consider to be the best foundation around town, and here are my tips on how best to apply it.
- While fingers are my usual tools when applying foundation, I found a combination of fingers and brush best. I used a foundation brush first and then, using the warmth of my fingers, blended the formula in.
- A little goes a long way, so do yourself a favour and don’t pump too much out as it’s difficult to get back in. Two full pumps should well and truly cover your whole face.
- If you want Luminous Silk to last, try mixing a pump of it with a tinted moisturiser for day wear. It’ll mean a slightly lighter coverage, but also that the Giorgio Armani base will last longer!
What is your holy grail of foundation?

At $90, it should be HG material :S I am keen to try Armani products myself. The only thing holding me back is I might like it too much but can't afford it on a regular basis :(

I love this foundation and used to get it sent to me when Giorgio Armani wasn't in Adelaide. Now there is a counter in David Jones I have had the pleasure of trying lots of their foundations. They really are brilliant.

I've been umming and ahhing over buying this product, I'm just not sure about the coverage, I like it as full as possible but hate looking like I'm wearing foundation. I might have to give it a go, just to get it out of my head.

Sounds perfect for me Olivia! Everyone raves about this one and its a definite must-try! But from what I have tried my HG is Chanel's Vitalumiere Aqua which is also just as you described Luminous Silk to be. Great coverage and buildable without EVER looking heavy or fake, moist, dewy, illuminating, and lasts a good while. I wish Armani, Dior and Chanel came to BH as they have alot of HG products for me to review!!!
