Looks like you missed a spot!

Hey beauties! Here's another blog from Kieu, who just completed two weeks work experience at bh. She did a great job and we look forward to seeing her again when she's in Sydney in October! Here's what she had to say about keeping up a perfect appearance:
You know that laundry detergent ad where a family is about to take a family portrait but then the wife finds a stain on her husband’s top? Well, I sometimes feel like that.
I try to make sure my make-up is spot on, but then I discover that my nails and hair look worse for wear (I sometimes let the nail polish fade and I don’t brush my hair everyday – gasp, the horror!).
But keeping up a picture perfect appearance is overwhelming sometimes. You have to cleanse, tone, exfoliate, moisturise and so on – and that’s just your face!
This is where multi-tasking comes in handy. Here are some of my tips to saving time and giving some tender loving care to the areas you may overlook:
- If you’ve squeezed too much moisturiser out from the tube, you can use the excess to moisturise your hands or any other dry areas.
- Don’t have a brow pencil? Try using eyeshadow for a quick fill in.
- Looking a bit pale with no blush? No problem, try some pink lipstick or tinted lip balm on the apple of your cheeks to give you a flush. (Try: Mode Lipstick in Antique Rose).
- Use concealer or foundation as a primer for your eyelids. (Try: Bloom Concealer).

What do you neglect in your beauty regime?

I neglect my facials. I only have a facial when I can be bothered and that's once in a blue moon. I also do the lipstick on cheek trick when I don't have my blusher handy.

Where do I start ..... I don't do my nails as often as I should, rather I leave them till the nailpolish is chipped and my nails need re shaping. SO SLACK! I should get a haircut more often ( but everytime I do I hate is for at least 3 weeks after) My heels need a good sloughing and moisture (they are just plain U G L Y ) And I only pluck/wax my eyebrows when they look like they are trying to shake hands!!

I really neglect my body moisturising! I'm just so lazy! I don't brush my hair too often as it's dead straight and if I do it will just stick infront of my eyes - Yoko Ono style... hmmm

I love my weekly exfoliating body scrubs but for the last few weeks I have been a bit slack. However I hit the shops today and bought a nice tub of the Natio Wellness Body Scrub. Now I'm back in business.... (-;

Over Winter I tend to let EVERYTHING go. Dry lizard skin, chapped lips, dry heels, chipped nail polish. Yuck! This weekend I'll start to get back on track with a home facial and manicure :)

This blog has a cool layout, I love it but do agree with CC some of the next is a bit hard to read, but its a welcome change all the same :)
Until recently I neglected my feet and hands (including nails) and they were suffering because of it. Now I have worked them into my daily skincare regime so that after my shower at night when I have finished applying my body moisturiser I whip out my Clarins Foot Beauty Treatment Cream (this stuff is the bomb my feet are super smooth in just a week) and slather it all over my tootsies and then cover them with socks, normally I just take the socks off before I go to sleep because it gets too hot, but if I can leave them on I do because it is far more effective with the socks on :) As for my hands after all these years I have finally gotten into the habit of wearing gloves to wash up, already I am seeing a significant improvement which goes to show how damaging all that chemical infused water really is. I have been trying to apply hand moisturiser during the day whenever I think of it but 9 times out of 10 it ends up getting washed off (having two little ones I am always handling food or something) but I make sure that before I go to sleep at night the last thing I do is coat my hands in a thick, rich hand balm at this stage I am using the Lanolips Rose Balm Intensive Hand and Nail Treatment (also wonderful) and at least I know at night that it is going to stay on and work its magic while I sleep :) Then my poor old nails well so far I have banned myself from any nail polish at all (nooooooooo this part is killing me, haha) and I have been using my Orly Cuticle Oil as often as I can remember, just massaging it into my nails whenever I get the chance. So far not seeing a major improvement but when I go to Sydney next weekend I am going to squeeze in a quick manicure because obviously I need a professional take on the situation, the amount of money I have spent on various so called nail strengthening treatments from Dr Lewinns to OPI to Sally Hansen (all of which failed miserably) is crazy when I think the best bet is to get someone who really knows nails to give me a tip or two, there has to be a light at the end of the tunnel for my poor abused nails :( and I am definitely willing to pay to find that light, lol. I have a ridiculous amount of nail polishes that I am busting to use but want good nails to put it on, must say my toe nails are getting spoiled lately though, so many colours for one set of feet, haha.

I used to neglect my hands and feet all the time.. Now I'm washing dishes with gloves on and since the first time I did it I felt like I didn't need a hand cream anymore.. what a difference!! My feet are still a bit neglected because it's cold so no one can really see my toes etc... :P I try not to neglect my face at all because I know I'll pay for it!!

I get slack with lipstick because it wears off me so quickly and I can't be bothered reapplying every hour. And body moisturising - ugh, such a chore.

My hair is most neglected, a few more trims & regular colour touch up would really help but finances have a major say in how and when I can have that done. Kieu hope that you had a great time at bh (i'm sure it would have been great fun!) I enjoyed reading your article and look forward to hearing from you again later in the year :)

Hey Kieu it was great to meet you and c u on BH again in October. I am happy with my routines, I don't think there's one part of me that's neglected so all's okay here. I just love trying new products when I finish the ones I'm using. There are just so many to choose from!

Hey beauties,
Thanks for pointing out the 'cool new' blog layout - was actually just a bit of a glitch in the system haha
But glad you liked it all the same ;-)
So...things i neglect (how long do you all have? Lol)...night moisturiser, hand cream, moisturising my body (i'm currently peeling - yes peeling!! and still i don't do it)...cutting my fringe...regular face masks...moisturising my cuticles (gonna do that right now!)....that's just a few but i think that'll do it for now - don't want you guys to think i'm the slackest beauty editor ever ;-p

This sounds so much like me! I'm a nail neglector, I spend so long getting my make up just right and I'm blessed with hair that doesn't need very much taming but my nails are a disaster! Thanks for the great tips BH!

You use lipstick on your cheeks? I guess that works as you can have matte blush
