Is your boyfriend messing up your make-up?

Manmakeupmess

Have you ever been chilling with your boy, enjoying a cosy movie or a romantic dinner date, and all of a sudden he feels the urge to show his adoration with a big (and in some cases, sloppy) smooch?

You know you should be caught up in the moment and show the world how much you heart him, but all you can think about is how smeared your lipstick is going to look, and how your perfectly placed foundation will look anything but!

This scenario is all too familiar for bh member, Pinkcoco, who started this forum topic, asking if anyone else, “has an issue with boyfriends messing up their make-up?”

Luckily, we’ve got a few handy tricks up our sleeves to help Pinkcoco – and all of you too! – score a smooch, and leave looking just as amazing as you did walking in…

  • - Find a lip colour you love that has serious staying power. Maybelline NY Superstay 24hr Lip Color comes in 24 mouth-watering shades and contains a vibrant colour in one end and a comforting balm in the other, and it won’t rub off onto his lips mid-smooch! Alternatively, if you're not one for a super-bold pout, opt for something with just a hint of colour and a whole lot of flavour (that way when he kisses you he won't mind tasting your gloss!). We like Lip Smacker® Colour Kiss Duo in Strawberry Kiss for its subtle red tint and gorgeously fruity flavour. Yummo!
  • - Set your flawless face in place with a mineral setting powder. A dusting of Adorn Mineral Cosmetics Perfect Finish Matte Setting Powder will reduce shiny areas and leave you looking fresh-faced and fabulous for longer.
  • - Do your perfectly stencilled smoky eyes look more like you’ve just done a few rounds with Mike Tyson after a bit of playtime with your boy? Don’t accept looking less than luscious. A long-wear eyeliner is just what the doctor ordered in this instance, and Beautycycle Long-Wear Eyeliner (with it’s precision pencil) fits the bill.

For nights when i'm expecting to get loved up, i keep my lips fairly natural, maybe a neutral apricot hue, or a subtle gloss and keep the detail in my eyes (:

I often wear glosses and balms, so its not often a problem, but thanks for the fab tip for the future! :)

I always use a setting powder as nothing is worse than your face rubbing of on your hubby/partner's shirt.. I like lipglosses too as they are easy to re-apply if needed.

I go pretty light on makeup for these occasions, I know it's terrible, but he's seen me without makeup on plenty of times. Coloured lipbalms are also great, easy to apply and don't taste weird for him

If I am going out I always wear smudge proof, long lasting/wearing lippy. But if I am staying in I like to go au natural.

If I'm just hanging out on the couch with the boy, then I usually take it off or don't put on anyway, that way it doesn't matter! Plus after 4 years I'm pretty comfortable with him seeing me without any make up.

Light makeup too, super glossy lips don't really work on me anyway so keeping it simple and mess free is great.

If I'm going out and expecting that my make-up might rub off, I usually go for YSL's Pur Lipstick - it lasts pretty well! Unfortunately nothing I can do about foundation so I've just accepted it LOL.

My hubby & I always have a 'pre-lipstick pash'!!

I'm more of a gloss gal so don't have the issue with lipstick smeared all over my face, or my boys. Foundation seems to stay put too thanks to finishing powder. What I do have a problem with is pash rash! Ouch!

Simple! :D :D :D

Make certain your clothes, eye colours and bed sheets all match your skin tone and hair... and try to keep moisturised and... in that case you will glow! in any case :D ,,.. oooh and invest in some nice glowing lamp shades... :D

Wear some sexy lip gloss so you don't have lip skids LOL!

I would wear neutral tones but if I did wear red lippy I would put a stayfast lipstick or when in doubt run to the bathroom and check how your lips are wearing.

Posietint! (Or one of the other Benefit tints). I wore Posietint layered quite heavily so that it was a nice bright pink to the Sunset Sounds festival - and I can assure you that the only reason that (and my waterproof mascara!!) vanished off my face was the torrential rain... 4 hours of it!

I agree with the maybelline superstay lip colour. I've been using it for years, it definately stays put through anything!
