Ingredient spotlight: soy proteins

Not just for hippies and vegetarians, soy proteins are also ideal when it comes to looking after mature skin.
They contain a high concentration of rich, revitalising nutrients, as well as amino acids, which all work to actively stimulate major skin cell renewal processes, and increase the skin’s own production of collagen and elastin – all of which decrease with age.
Soy proteins enable the skin to take on a thicker, and stronger structure, resulting in skin that looks firmer, rejuvenated and with fewer wrinkles.
Try: NIVEA Visage Vital Triple Action Soy+ Day Care, Night Care, and Eye and Lip Care.

I've just started using soy products on my skin, and i can see the difference already (i have mature skin). It's funny, because i'm chinese, i've been eating soy forever, never really thinking that it would eventually go on my face too LOL

It's quite interesting reading what these ingredients do for our skin.

I've been using soy based skin care for ages, infact more soy goes on my face than in my mouth.

Soy...never thought about it's benefits for the skin. Thanks for the informative article. I may have to try some soy on my face now, and not just stuff my face with it.

Thanks for this article.
I'm looking for a product that features copper peptides. Anyone know of any relatively inexpensive creams that contain the active ingredients?

Sounds like a great ingredient to have. I'll try to buy a product that has some in it.

I have to say I am more than sceptical about an article highlighting the benefits of an ingredient when said article is sponsored by a company whose product is then recommended. How about some scientific validation?

I agree with Alishes... especially since unfermented soy is nasty, toxic stuff according to a LOT of recent research, and is linked to infertiliy, hormone disruption and autoimmune disease. Is that the same stuff in your product Nivea?

Hi Alishes, a bit of healthy scepticism never hurts although bh is always transparent in its reporting which is why this articles resides under the Promotion header. Having said that we have contacted Nivea and asked them to provide further scientific info on the matter, which you can read here: http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/article/ingredient-spotlight-scientific-say.

I changed my diet months ago adding soy products and I've seen a huge difference. I've lost weight (first time in years) and my skin is much better, softer and clearer. Also I seem to have less menopausal symptoms than my sister.

I have to try these things to see what works for my skin. I'm willing to try most things but I do the allergy test on my inner arm first before I risk a reaction on my face. The Tomato look is not very appealing.
