Halloween madness: get ghoulishly glam

If you’re heading to a Halloween-inspired fancy dress party this weekend, don’t allow your make-up to let down your look!
Twilight fever has turned vampires into hot property, so there’s sure to be a few bloodsuckers roaming the streets. For a vampire-esque deathly pallor, try a foundation a few shades lighter than your natural skin tone. Don’t worry about blending it perfectly either, a patchy finish will create shadows and add to that sickly-but-sexy look.
For witches and warlocks – inspired by the musical Wicked – a green-tinged skin tone is easily achieved using Physician’s Formula Magic Cube Concealer Cream to Powder Concealer in Green.
Those opting for zombie or ghoul garb can get their ideal, ashen complexion by mixing a silvery-blue colour, like MAC Pigment in Softwash Grey, in with their regular foundation. Create a complementary blood-shot look by blending a pink crème blush such as Almay Smart Shade Blush in Pink around the eye. Layer it up for an intense, wild-eyed look.
Don’t bother with concealer and let any dark shadows work in your favour for once! Lashings of smudged, soft kohl pencil (try Revlon Matte Kohl Eyeliner) both over and under the eyelid will intensify your deadly gaze.
Last season’s trend of black lips may have seemed unwearable – until now, that is! Otherwise, a sweep of super-dark lipstick like MAC Lipstick in Night Violet will complete the look for Halloween.
What ingenious ways will you be making use of your make-up?

I too was anti-halloween due to the whoel america-taking-over feel of it, but i have become addicted! I jsut love the excuse to dress up in outrageous costumes! if australia could have a "costume day" instead of halloween as a holiday, then I would be completely behind it!

I'm going as an 80s zombie and I made the costume so that just makes it even more exciting! I'm using my sister's make-up as she is really pale and I am doing grey-blue lips!

It seems not many of us celebrate halloween. I think its fun, but not if only a few get into it.

I love the idea of Halloween but do not actually do anything to acknowledge it (except make sure I've got some chocolates for the growing numbers of young trick-or-treaters). I think it would be fun to go to a halloween party and dress up like a ghoul or a vamp though :-)

I just see it as a fun excuse for a costume party, I'm going to a trivia night but we're just keeping it basic black with witches hats although I'm going to be playing around with my makeup a bit.
I think Mich will have put us all to shame with her get-up.
