Perfect match

During a recent spree at the sales, my girlfriend shocked me right out of my very new, shiny boots. She revealed to me she’s been wearing the same foundation for more than 10 years. Now I know we all have a deep and meaningful relationship with our foundation, but the same one and only?
Foundation, like your favourite jeans, should be a perfect fit, a second skin. My fave jeans make me feel and look fabulous, but the thing is I have several favourite pairs depending on how I feel, the occasion or season. And the same goes with my foundation, since I have several on the go all year round.
My daily foundations consist of lightweight L’Oreal Paris Ideal Balance Balancing Foundation, Lancôme Photogenic Luminessence SPF12 and Clinique Supermoisture Makeup, an oil-based foundation that is handy during winter dry spells. For special occasions meanwhile, I love Chanel Teint Innocence Fluid Makeup SPF12 as it turns my skin into a radiant silk.
Like shopping for jeans, you have to be in the mood to go in search of a new foundation, because finding your perfect match is imperative. Always test the colour in daylight and make sure you choose one that is right for your skin type.
Now just like a pair of jeans, they don’t all have to be designer. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Sass and Bide and Seven pairs, but my Target favorites get all the compliments. It can be the same with foundation, too. Revlon, Maybelline, L’Oreal and Covergirl all do a great job at a small price. Which makes the decision to bag more than one foundation less of a worry for the wallet.
If you need extra help, a trip to the beauty counters at DJ’s and Myer are always great fun, and the beauty consultants are experts at finding your perfect match. If you’re still not sure about making the move to a new foundation, most of the counters like Clinique, Bobbi Brown and Estee Lauder will give you a sample so you can take it home and get a feel for it.
Have fun shopping. Just like shoes, bags and jeans, a girl can never have enough make-up!

Have you found your perfect match yet?

I have been a fan of Prescriptives foundations for about 13 years... I've changed formulas as Prescriptives have evolved their oil-free ranges but I simply don't like the feel, wear or coverage of most other foundations...
I've yet to try Eles and Inika mineral foundations, but I have a few other brands of minerals and I am reluctant to spend any more money on minerals for the time being - my skin likes a new mineral foundation for a few days, but then it starts to hate it - I get all dry and they tend to emphasise my flaws instead of camoflaging them... and yes, I wear a tonne of moisturiser, I cleanse, tone, scrub, mask and have regular facials... Mineral make-up works for me when my skin is being perfect, but generally my skin is fickle...

I like Dove tinted moisturiser as it doesn't feel as heavy as foundation & has a combined SPF. I am thinking about going back to foundation though.

I can't say that I've used a foundation for 10 years straight or even 12 months for that matter! I like to try various brands and have a few that I've found and love and know that if all else fails I can go back to my favs such as Mac Studio Fix Foundation. I've been using various different brands of mineral foundations for over the past 12 months and love the solid variety in a compact with a fine blendable texture. I find the loose powders too messy for me and I like to carry a compact with me in my handbag :)

I haven't found mine yet, but I am one of those ppl who likes to have a range anyway & I just took possession of my newest foundation (Clinique Superfit in Healthy) yesterday from SNET on recommendation from a friend who has similar skin & colouring to me & she has been using it for many years.

I had an estee lauder one years ago that was PERFECT but in true e.l fashion they discontinued it. i've used their other ones since but none have ever been so perfect.
so i've broken up with them and i've begun a new relationship with ELES mineral foundation. i love the liquid to powder finish for a more complete yet light finish and the powder for the 'i'm too lazy to spend too much time' coverage. I am pleased to say these are the best foundations i have EVER used. i've never had to touch up through the day, even with an oily t.zone and my skin feels so comfortable. sigh of relief. :)

I use Mirenesse foundation, however, it has lasted years because I rarely wear foundation.

I have a 'commitment phobia' when it comes to foundation...but the most 'perfect' formula that I have come across...is the 'Joey Pure Pores Foundation'... not to heavy, not to light...it feels like you are wearing nothing at all...and the greatest thing...my pores just seem to magically fade away on application...anything that makes my skin look this good has got to be my perfect match.

My perfect match is the true match L'orel foundation. The only problem is it has a short life span, as i have recently discovered after feeling the difference between old and new. I still love it though

My favorite foundation is by Shu Uemura. Unfortunately, I can't buy it in Australia, so I have to stock up when I go overseas. Otherwise, I'm fairly fickle with foundation, I've never liked one enough to repurchase it.

Finding my "purrfect" colour match I'm able to master, the main problem i'm currently having is finding a foundation that doesn't contain spf as they all seem to give me reactions....and so the search continues! Otherwise Napoleon's stick and light diffusing foundation and Estee Lauders Futurist are quite nice!

I love mineral makeup and am addicted to everyday minerals, but I still experiment with the colour, you can never get the perfect one, and it's fun trying!

I am constantly changing foundations. I like to experiment. I do have a few favourites that I keep coming back to, but I think change is good. I am super keen to try the ELES foundation. I keep on hearing about this foundation. Now to get my hands on some.

I am always chopping and changing my foundations, often if depends on what is on special at the time. I always tend to come back to compact foundations, because I find them convenient.

I'm still on the search for a good foundation that will feel, as you say, like a second skin.i'm very pale and sensitive which makes finding a good foundation a bit hard.though i really want to try mineral foundation, it looks like the foundation i've been searching for all this time

I've found quite a few good foundations, but changing skin tones etc etc give me quite a good turnover :]
Have two on the go at the moment, L'Oreal and Maybelline.

i tried maybelline pre, but it was way too white for my colour and they did't have a middle colour... :( so now i use everyday minerals. i love it! not heavy at all, and its great for those days of speedy makeup mornings.

I found my perfect match in an Australis cream compact. Its so reliable, relatively cheap and perfect colour and texture for me. Yipee :)
