Glosscars Nominee

Introducing Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation, available on counter 25th April 2012. That's right, I have been lucky enough to trial this product before its launch so that you can make an informed decision fast. My verdict: in a nutshell you will achieve exactly what the name suggests - flawless, hydrated skin that will make you say 'wow!'
For years I have tried oodles of foundations. Some have blown me away and others not so much. Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow is one of the few that I have become smitten with, however I must admit there was a little hesitation when using it for the first time. You see years ago Benefit had a foundation called Fiction Foundation and I was not a fan of the uncomfortable formula and while I love Benefit and believe in their products, I was a little worried that this would turn out the same. My first application was with my finger tips right before running out the door to a makeup job and after that I decided that this method of application does not do the formula justice. You see while Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow blended over my skin, it only seemed to barely offer a medium coverage whereas I like a medium/full finish. The following day I applied it with my stipple foundation brush (see the brush I used) and the results were amazing - it was like using a completely different foundation! When carefully applied and stippled (blended) in to the skin the formula began to offer me a medium/full coverage and created flawless looking skin in just minutes. Wow ... who would have thought application techniques could make such a difference. With that said, Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow lasted pretty much all day with only a powder touch up that morning but my forehead is much oilier than the rest of my face and it was this area where the foundation wore off by around 2pm. Luckily for me a powder touch up prevented further wearing down and it remained in place for another few hours. All in all Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow lasted around 10 hours with just the one touch-up required which is rather impressive. Another reason I love this foundation is the fact the formula is oil-free AND hydrating, making it ideal for most skin types. It contains SPF 25 to protect skin from unnecessary exposure to the sun. Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow contains nine wonderful yellow and pink-based shades to choose from. As a makeup artist I personally favour yellow based shades as they are more flattering universally, however for the pink lovers there are plenty of options to choose from also. The yellow based tone I own is very yellow but with a little time and patience the shade blends in and matches my skin tone - best to choose wisely and ask a Benebabe for colour matching advice if unsure. For those who are concerned about its ingredients, please note that it contains Mica, Silica, Dimethicone and Bismuth Oxychloride but luckily for this foundation there are no parabens present. So if you are on the hunt for a new liquid foundation that offers a medium to full coverage and a pleasant, lightweight consistency, you must consider Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow because it really does offer that 'wow factor'.

Fresh faced

This foundation provides medium coverage with a natural fresh finish that is slightly dewy just like natural skin looks without anything on. It can easily be sheered down for light coverage. It layers really well so can be combined with any base you like to increase coverage, even a bb cream. It does not contain any shimmer and doesn't give a luminous look like some foundations. The texture is super light and thin and covers minor imperfections such as an uneven skin tone, some redness and light freckles. This foundation does not fully cover up acne scarring or blemishes so I use a little bit of concealer in combination. The light liquid blends super easily over my skin. It doesn't emphasise any dry areas or cause excessive oiliness. I use a zinc sunscreen with SPF30 underneath even though it contains SPF25 sun protection. I also use a good quality mattifying primer. I never rely on my foundation for sun protection and actually prefer my foundation not to contain an SPF. However the SPF25 will be great for anyone not wanting to use a separate sunscreen. This foundation is not shiny looking or tacky at all so doesn't really need to be set with a powder but I prefer to set with a mattifying powder on my t-zone to keep oiliness at bay. This foundation lasts for about 4-5 hours on my skin before it starts to fade, even in cooler weather so I find I will need touch ups after this time. I would prefer if this foundation lasted longer. The packaging is really nice and I do like the pump bottle because it’s so easy to use. It's easy to pump out small amounts so there is no wastage. I truly love the natural look this foundation gives; it's surprisingly pigmented for such a light formula. Since it doesn't last a truly long time I mainly use this foundation for shorter trips eg shopping, dinner, movies. I don't use it for long shifts at work. I'm on my second bottle and will definitely consider purchasing another bottle once finished. Also a tip; this foundation goes really well with a very light dusting of Benefit hello flawless powder over the top.

Goof, but not great.

This was the first Benefit foundation that I have tried and while I think it’s good, I don’t think it’s great. The bottle comes with the pump top lid which is always a hygiene bonus. Only a small pump is needed for an even coverage of the whole face.
The foundation has a light to medium coverage and covers red well. This finish is more on the dewy side, but this can become oily after a few hours wear. I have pink undertones and found this foundation more suited to those people with yellow undertones as I had a slightly orange appearance which became more noticeable over the course of the day. I have not had any issues with breakouts and love that it contains SPF 25. However I have found for the price there are much better options for me.

Sample Finished - Just Purchased The Full Sized!

I really loved this so much from the sample I had so I've not ordered my full-sized product. So I felt I needed to re-review this great product.

My daughter also kept 'stealing' it and 'borrowing' it so I decided I'd buy her a full-sized one for her too while I was at it. Since it has SPF25 in it and no oil it can only be of benefit for her skin too in both the long and short term. I encourage my girls to wear sunscreen - and my eldest (15) likes to wear a light coverage to school and so this can only be a good thing! She's pretty happy that mum's ordered one of these for her too!

I love the way it shows my freckles through a bit on my nose and looks quite natural in it's finish - it's not matte but not overly dewy at all either - just a very nice balanced looking make-up. I wouldn't call it sheer - but more of a light coverage as it does give some coverage.

The whole time I used the sample I never got any pimples from it and I love that! I also found that it did tend to 'brighten' my complexion as it says it will do on the front of the packaging. I'm loving the name, "Hello Flawless" and the way it gives extra oxygen to the skin.

Fab foundation - Glosscars BIB

I love this new foundation to bits. I have been using it for a few months and still have most of the bottle left as you only need to use a tiny bit at a time. A little truly does go a long way. Naturally, I have very pink flushed cheeks and this foundation covers the redness very nicely. Before this, I wouldn't touch blush with a ten foot pole. Now my face is left with a 'blank' canvas and I can actually add a little blush back! I also tend to sweat a lot, yet this foundation stays in place for the entire day on my skin! I love the fact that it has SPF25 so I can rest assured that my skin is safe from the harsh Aussie sun! :)

Couple of hours and your greasy

That is what I found with this product. I really loved the powder foundation and thought it would be a perfect mix to go with it but unfortunately I was wrong.

natural no makeup look

This foundation gives a light to medium coverage with a natural finish that looks slightly dewy just like natural skin looks without anything on. It does not contain any shimmer and doesn't give a luminous look like some foundations. The texture is super light and thin and covers minor imperfections such as an uneven skin tone and light freckles. This foundation does not cover up acne scarring or redness on some areas of my face. For coverage of those areas I will have to use a concealer over the top. The light liquid blends super easy over my skin. My skin is dry and this foundation never looks cakey and doesn't emphasise the dry areas at all. I use a moisturiser and then my zinc SPF30 underneath this foundation even though the foundation does give SPF25 sun protection. I also use a good quality primer underneath. I never rely on my foundation for sun protection and actually prefer my foundation to have no SPF. This foundation is not shiny looking so doesn't really need to be set with a powder but I prefer to set with a powder to give that extra little bit of coverage and to prolong the wear. This foundation lasts for about 4-5 hours on my skin before it starts to fade off. This is really annoying as I have to touch up with concealer during my shift at work. I prefer a foundation that lasts at least 8 hours. The packaging is really nice and I do like the pump bottle because its easy to use. One full pump is a little less than I need to cover my whole face so I use a pump and then a quarter of a pump which is easy to do with this particular pump. There are no issues with wastage. I do love the natural look and the fact that it really suits my dry skin so am disappointed that this foundation won't last. I cant wear this foundation to work because of the fading issue so wear it if I need to do a shop or something. This is one of those foundation where you let the natural beauty shine through.

Perhaps not for oily prone skin?

I received a 5ml sample size of this in a Bellabox and unfortunately it was the wrong shade. For trial purposes I gave it a good go though and I found it made me oily, oily oily. My skin tends to lean on the oily side anyway and I prefer a matte finish which this was not.

I have heard a lot of good reviews on this foundation though so I won't say it is horrible. The SPF factor and the oil free factor are great! It is just not for me though.

It's Oil-Free & Has SPF25!!!

This has recently rapidly become one of my favourite foundations because it's an oil-free formula and has a fantastic SPF of 25! I find the colour Honey suits my skin as it has a good warm base to it. Still, I add a bronzer on specific areas on the top of it because I find it's paler on my face than how it looks it the tube.

A really great idea with this would be to try it on your face before you buy because it does look darker in the tube than on the skin.

I love this formula - it really suits me and my life with it's high SPF. It almost makes it obselete to wear a moisturiser underneath with an SPF because it has such a good SPF all on it's own!

It feels light and very comfortable and I know it won't clog my pores with oil which is great as I have acne-prone/blemish-prone skin. I love the finish it gives me too - quite natural looking but it has a medium coverage which really suits me and helps to cover any blotchiness.

I currently only have the 5ml sample of this but I'll be buying the full size when it's finished. It's a great foundation!!
