As a general rule I wear a non-silicon based primer. It really does make my makeup stick longer and look better!

Primers are amazing. I love how smooth they make your skin and create a perfect base for make up application.
My FAVOURITE primer is definitely JOHN PLUNKETTS ADVANCED INSTANT WRINKLE FILLER. Honestly, it sounds like for mature skin but it is the most AMAZING primer. It creates the SOFTEST base and I can't stop raving about it. I love Clarins Beauty Flash balm, Model co and NP .... But JP Instant wrinkle filler takes the cake for me. TRY IT!! I promise it will be the best investment you will ever make.

Sometimes, I am yet to find a primer I am really happy with. So it's a step u can be slack with.

I am a bit of a slacker in this area, I have only just realised how important a finishing powder is.LOL I would love to try the Loreal base magique one, as it has been so popular.

Yes I do but not every day and less often these days as I like to wear sheerer/less foundation so a primer isn't all the essential for me.

Hmm my mineral makeup stays put just fine at the moment, and I've always been a bit skeptical that I need primer...no harm in trying I guess though!

I like the feel of the Loreal primer best but I'm currently trying out the Australis one which works well.

I have quite a few primes. I took a while before I found one that didn't cause me to break out. I am loving the Natio primer at the moment.

've primed for years now because without it my skin doesn't tolerate foundation very well. Couldn't imagine applying foundation without it now a days. So many options here. I have used the loreal from this list and liked it. I genrally use NP auto pilot primer but would like to check out the youngblood or inika ones. Actually there are a few here i'd be keen to try next.

I didn't think I needed primer before, but then I started using it and oh my goodness, I wondered why I never used them right from the start!

The mirenesse one looks amazing I would love to try that! I use primer but mainly only when I am going out and want my make up to last. During the day I normally just wear some mascara and gloss.

Could you just use primer on its own without putting any makeup on? Because if it fills in wrinkles, lines and pores it sounds good enough to be used by itself!

I've been using primers for about 8 years now, before that I didn't really know much about them. Now I cannot live without a primer and I can really notice the difference in my foundation application if I don't use one.
My favourites are Mirenesse Absolutely Smooth Treatment Primer, YSL Top Secrets Flash Radiance Primer.

The only time I use primer is when my makeup is professionally done. I do want to start using primer though, so thanks for the article. I'll keep an eye out on those brands listed and try a few :)

I love using primer, it really makes a difference as my skin usually has a pimple or 2 (or more! urgh!) and I have acne scarring, This really helps smooth out my pores around my nose and my cheeks, love it! At the moment my favourite is Revlon PhotoReady !
