Bronze-eyed beauty

To me, there’s nothing more attention grabbing than a made-up pair of peepers. Whether it be a crazy colour, or a subtle earthy hue, you’re guaranteed to stand out when you focus on your eyes.
I have always been more of an earthy kind of shadow gal’ by nature, specialising in browns and nudes – frosty or matte – I love it all. I especially can’t go past a good bronze-y hue against my big brown eyes – it’s like spreading the chocolate-y joy! Which is why I found it essential to share some of my longest-running shadow loves.
Glominerals gloReflection cream eye shadow in Gilded Bronze is destined to be your very best purse pal. With its super-handy slimline packaging it’s the ultimate way to enjoy a bronze eye on the go.
For those nights out, you can’t go past Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Bronze. It’s your ticket to the ultimate twist on a classic smoky eye, and will look good against any eye colour – nifty eh?
For a more natural eye look (but still keeping with the bronze theme), I love to sport a little Max Factor Earth Spirit Eye Shadow in Inca Bronze. The subtle yet pigmented shade will deliver a different kind of daytime look – without being OTT.

What’s your favourite way to wear bronze?

I love to dust 2Glo Bronzer in St Tropez as a contour on my forehead (hairline), temples, slightly around jawline then I really warm up my cheek bones with a stronger dusting. I do also love wearing MF Inca Bronze, it is the most wearable bronze eyeshadow even for the fair ones.

Next to blush, but the colours have to compliment, or as an eyeshadow.

Definitely on my eyes, I don't really wear bronzer on my face at all, I like my pale complexion, and am scared of looking orange if I try and use bronzer. I do use a matte brown blush along my jawline though to contour.

I've learnt over the years how to apply bronze properly as i used to OD big time and just looked like I rolled my face in mud. Less is more and it's great to apply in areas you want to contour or areas where the sun naturally hits the face - a little on the nose, forehead, chin and cheeks. A little in the cleavage area looks great with especially when you're wearing a dress or plunging necklines. Can give a fake enhancement.

I agree, Olivia, bronze is a flattering shade for many people as it suits most skin tones. It's one colour that complements eyes, face and body. My fave way to wear bronze is underneath my cheekbones and around my temples to add definition to my face. My fave bronzer is L'Oreal's Glam Bronze Mineral Powder in Blonde as it gives my fair skin a glowing golden hue. : )

I only wear bronze as an eyeshadow - maybe I would also try it as an eyeliner? But I'm very pale so don't do the bronzer thing on face, and cant imagine bronze lipstick!!! I love the Bobbi Brown bronze shadow - all my favourite eye shadows are Bobbi Brown!!!

I love to wear shades of deep bronze and browns on my eyes.....contouring the socket and lining and just generally having fun playing with the lovely earthy shades. I'd really like to experiment with contouring my face with bronzer...but I am really really pale so worry it may look weird, or that my poorly lit bathroom may lead me to apply a little too much ;)

I like to use it as a eyeshadow too. I cant really use bronzer on my face - it looks too unnatural as i'm pretty pale.

I have an awesome bronze eyeliner, it was the first eyeliner colour I ever purchased when I decided it was way overdue that I used something other than black. I must say it rocks as well :)
I am keen to try that Glo cream eyeshadow never tried a cream eyeshadow myself, I have a few cream bronzers but I have only used them on my cheeks, wonder if they would be ok for eyes, if not I might have to invest in something like that one you mentioned Olivia. Thanks for the rec :)

That is such beautiful eye make-up on the girl in the photo! I love neutrals on my eyes because it can still look natural even though it's not! It can look like I'm hardly wearing any make-up yet my eyes are dramatically enhanced. I love that makeup can do that.
One of my fave ways of using a bronze colour is to use it has a contour shade just under my cheekbones and close to the sides of my face. It also can be a very natural look but it is actually extremely enhancing to my face. It's a great 'trick' I learned 20 or so years ago but I still use it today.

I have a few bronze eyeshadows but I don't think I have ever worn them! I might have to dig them up now.

I love a dusting of bronzie on my face and to contour my cheekbones. I just love the pic. Want to work up the confidence to pull off eyeshadow properly.

I love bronze on the eyes or as a face contourer / bronzer for cheeks. I still need to master the art of application with that though! Love the colour and selections outlined here, thanks bh :)
