There’s no doubt about it beauties, Christmas time equals crazy time.
If you’re not working extra long hours, you’re heading straight from the office to a Christmas party, and if you’re not heading off to a party, you’re probably rushing to the shops to try and get your Christmas shopping done in time.
Even the weekends seem to fly by in a blur of silly season bbqs and bar-hopping – and before you know it, the week has started all over again.
Chances are, you’re probably already exhausted and the height of the silly season hasn’t even hit! Which is why we’re here to arm you with the handbag essentials guaranteed to keep you looking alive and feeling fresh throughout the party season…
Maybelline New York Dream Lumi Touch Concealer
We say: Feeling a bit fatigued but have to head out to a bar? Pop a bit of this illuminating concealer under your eyes and you’ll look instantly awake. The slimline pen packaging also means it’ll fit into the smallest of clutches, so you can brighten up and look refreshed wherever you go!
Our members say: “Great for brightening up a tired face…I think it's great for concealing dark eye circles, and highlighting the tops of the cheekbones.” - Michellelinda
Benefit Pocket Pal
We say: We love a good 2-in-1 make-up staple, especially when it can help take your look from ‘office drab’ to ‘hit-the-town fab’! Use the tinted end to give both your cheeks and your lips a divine flush of colour, and then use the gloss on your lips to increase their kissability. You can even use the gloss on your eyelids for a sleek barefaced beauty look.
Our members say: “This double ended product contains both the benetint as well as a clear gloss. It really does give the cheeks and lips a nice rosy glow. This product is a lifesaver if you are running late and still want to feel put together.” misscleostreet
Hollywood Fashion Secrets Oil Blotting Tissues
We say: Nothing says ‘I haven’t had time to freshen up’ like an oil-slicked face. Whether you’re going from desk to dance floor, or beach to bar, these oil-blotting babies will be your skin’s BFF – pat them over your face for an instantly refreshed-looking complexion.
Our members say: “I can't go anywhere without these! They keep my skin looking fresh and flawless no matter how long I’ve been out. The pack is really slim so can easily fit in your pocket or handbag.” - Missem
CAREFREE® ACTI-FRESH® liners
We say: Nothing beats that just-showered feeling, but find me the girl who has time to shower and change before each and every silly season shindig and we bet she’s got way too much time on her hands! The new CAREFREE® ACTI-FRESH® liners draw sweat away from your body and control odour, ensuring you feel fresh and dry all day and night. Plus the liners are so super thin so you won’t even know you’re wearing one! Perfect for everyday wear for the girl-on-the-go – party animal or not!
Our members say: “I like these liners and I use them as I like to stay fresh…I hate it when I don’t use them…as it just doesn’t feel fresh like I like to feel.” - Ellelily
Colgate Wisp
We say: The biggest buzz-killer at a party? Bad breath! Just because you’re feeling tired and stale, doesn’t mean your breath has to smell that way. Keep a pack of these mini disposable toothbrushes in your handbag and your breath will smell fresh all night long. They’re also perfect for getting rid of that post-party ‘furry’ teeth feel should you pull an all-nighter!
Our members say: “My friends and I are OBSESSED with these. I always have a pack in my bag...They are perfect for freshening up if you're out after dinner or one of the girls has met a new guy” - Zaralis
Looking for some fab party season make-up ideas? Look no further...

Don't go anywhere without oil blotting tissues, and I often add a slick of whatever lipstick I'm wearing high on my cheeks to give my face a lift, especially if I'm going to a function after work, but of course not if it's purple or brown, lol...

I usually feel like I can handle any situation during the party season so long as my bag contains blotting papers, band aids, mints, a tinted lip balm, a compact mirror, a spare hair elastic, and a mini perfume sample.

A thin translucent powder compact with a mirror, lip balm, lipstick or coloured gloss, perfume, bobbi pins and hair ties, band-aids (for the back of your heels if they rub a bit), mints and a small comb. :)

Liners, lip gloss, face wipes, tissues, dental floss, teeth whitening chewies, Garnier under eye roll on, and perfume are just a few things I like to have on hand at short notice over the party season. Sometimes outings can be spur of the moment and you have to be ready.

I tend to carry a small selection of beauty products in my handbag even when it's not Xmas season including a mirror, lippy, gloss and sometimes some blush or powder.

Burt's Bees tinted lip gloss. I use a long lasting lipstick for parties but my lips get really dry (talk too much), so it's good to be able to moisturise them and boost the lip colour at the same time.

My handbag is like a suitcase, I tend to carry my full makeup purse around....as well as a hand creme, hair brush, lip balm, nail file, hair spray, deodorant, perfume....doing my best to cut down on some things, and go for smaller sizes to take some weight off...

Ooh! I'm after a new CONCEALER! Definitely gonna have to give this Maybelline one a go! :D My usual handbag staple is makeup wipes, mascara, tinted moisturiser and gloss! Just incase I have smudges, these things are usually great for quick touchups!
