It’s time to open your eyes

It’s time to take a bold step with your make-up and stand out from the crowd – they do say the make-up maketh the woman after all.
I’m talking interesting and unique beauty looks people! You know, colours that are another world away from your everyday routine (a dazzling silver line across your lids for work anyone?), or even the complete abandonment of one of your favourite beauty staples, like mascara (only for this specific style of course, we’d never dare to ditch it long-term!).
The latter look made my heart skip a few beats, as I love that something as simple as not painting your lashes can change your entire eye. Try this when getting ready for your next night out: apply your make-up as usual, and pat concealer around your eyes to open them up and even them out, then…drop that mascara! You will look as dreamy as if you’ve just indulged in a completely uninterrupted eight hours of zzz’s.
My favourite benefit to come out of this rule-breaking bold beauty look is that you won’t have to suffer potential panda eyes the next day – and isn’t that more than enough reason to shake up your make-up?

What’s your favourite way to break the beauty rules?

I could never give up my mascara, my eyelashes pretty much dont exist unless i have mascara lol....However, i have recently been giving up on the eyeliner and just opting for mascara and it changes my look completely, make me look more awake and fresh.

I only use mascara when I wear makeup completely, which isn't every day.

Actually, I have heard before that creating a makeup look sans eyeliner and mascara will make you look younger, and now not surprisingly un-sleep deprived. I do it frequently, sometimes I use a flesh coloured eyeliner on my waterline when my eyes are looking a bit red.

Interesting, I was running late this morning and had to forgo mascara to save time. What a coincidence that I get to work and read this haha.

I always break my beauty rules, like going out sans mascara, but it's usually because I didn't have enough time putting on my makeup in between chasing after my toddler LOL

Yikes, I couldn't go without my mascara. I need it so you can see I DO have eyelashes. The only beauty routine I have given up is eyeliner......I could never go without putting it on, and I only use it occasionally now, if sometimes going out at night.

I would omit my eyeliner, i have done it before, and my eyes still look ok with just the mascara.

I don't ever skip mascara. I feel incomplete without it. I don't ever ever skip eyeliner, I feel naked without it. But agreed on skipping these making you look younger. I can do it oncein a while I guess.

Even if I am wearing minimal makeup I don't think I could forgo the mascara. My eyes look little and piggy without it!

I can't live without some form of cover-up weather that be foundation or a tinted moisturiser,or even concealer, nor could I go without mascara, they are just staples, every single day, lol.

I often forgo mascara as it can be troublesome to remove. I'll try your concealer trick, Olivia. : )

My favourite way to break all the beauty rules is to eat Hilliers Devonshire Caramel chocolates! That just has to be breaking atleast a few beauty rules and it's easily one of my favourite ways of doing it! (I accept the fact that I'll be seen with some pimples in the following days.)

i agree i cant live without Tinted moisturiser too since i need it to protect my skin from the sun. concealer is a must only when i've got sleep deprived or when i have acne

I have long eyelashes but they are not dark enough to stand out so I would feel "naked" without my mascara! I agree DaniiBeauty, some of them are very hard to remove! I don't think I break many beauty rules when it comes to my makeup looks. I like softness' rule breaker though!
