London’s best beauty buys

When I was readying myself for my impending trip to London just a few weeks ago, I knew I’d return with a second wardrobe in tow, so I made allowances to ensure my case was underweight – enabling me to stuff it jam-packed with all the beauty goodies I could get my freshly-painted fingertips on!

What I didn’t prepare for though, was a bountiful array of beauty offerings I couldn’t bear to be without. (You’d think I’d get my fill being in this gig wouldn’t you? Oh no, I’m officially obsessed!)

So watch on as I share with you so some of my most favourite beauty buys from Londontown, and give you good incentive to get yourselves over there to sample them all first hand!

Welcome back Liv! Love what you brought home and thanks for sharing with all us gals - the lipstick pencil looks a treat, but the hair shine and control spritz is what I'm most coveting... :-)

Welcome back! Looks like you had a successful shopping trip. I love checking out all the hair and beauty products overseas when I'm on holidays. And they are so much cheaper as well. I'm heading overseas next year and will be going to London, so can't wait to check out all the awesome hair and beauty stuff that they have.

I visited the UK over Christmas last year and they honestly do have the most amazing beauty and hair products! I love it all, but especially how cheap it is!

Welcome home, Liv. You look great (like the chunky bracelet)! I haven't been overseas for a long time so can't share any goodies with you. The items you bought look great, especially the cute concealer compact. Enjoy them all.

Loved all the products especially the hair care, I think the Aussie haircare was around 20yrs ago in sachets for treatments, I brought one when I was 17.

Gosh, I miss Boots and Superdrug! Can't wait to be back in the UK in September - I'll get to stock up on all the great products I can't get here. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip, Liv, and it's nice to see you love some of the same things I do.

Oh lucky you Liv. I used to work at Boots Head Office in the UK in Nottingham. My job was in the marketing division and I literally used to be surrounded by every worldwide make-up brand you can think of. The buyers trips were amazing, all across the states and South America, Australia etc.) and I used to play with it to my hearts content. I then used to have to review it for the marketers and for the scientists. Hint, when buying No7 in Boots, you're pretty much buying the Chanel colour range. I have lived in Australia for 12 years now and like Frannybee above, still miss Boots. It still rates in my top 3 jobs of all time (that I've done). I get my fix as soon as I land normally. A good tip for beauty lovers is buy there, don't haul it all over with you. I don't bring any beauty products with me except for what I need on the plane and I splurge excessively when I get there. I love the Boots Sanctuary Spa range. It's a Covent Garden spa that is pretty exclusive and they use orange oils predominantly. Lovely products. They do the most amazing facial oil that beats the really expensive brands (Clarins etc.). They also do the wonderful Liz Earle range... oh I could talk about the products in Boots forever. I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip. I'm hanging out for October when I get to indulge.

I LOVE Barry M products, my dad was born in England and I inherited ghostly pastey white skin from his side and as such my skin tends not match in with a lot of Australian products so I buy 99% of my foundations, powders etc from england in particular barry m. They even have a white foundation which I mix in with other brands of foundations to lighten them.
