Beauty is only skin deep…

And so is the pain. Trust us, having tried just about every kind of hair removal and chemical peel out there we know what it’s like to suffer for your art.
But that’s all about to change now that we’ve seen the light and started using emla®.
emla® is the world’s most widely used local anaesthetic cream (over 200 million people have used it over the last 20 years). It’s applied to the skin to alleviate, numb or minimise pain associated with lots of things us girls (and guys) put ourselves through in the name of beauty: laser, IPL, electrolysis, waxing, microdermabrasion, collagen injections and various other cosmetic procedures.
So next time you’re booking in for a beautician’s appointment, be sure to apply emla®, you can do it in the privacy of your own home prior to your appointment so no one need know (they’ll just think you’re super brave or have a mega high pain threshold!). With emla® you can have the confidence that your monthly waxing visit needn’t be dreaded and painful. It's the local anaesthetic that everyone’s talking about.
Most procedures require an application time of approximately one hour. For more painful procedures or sensitive areas longer application times are recommended. The anaesthetic effect lasts for two hours.
emla® is available in convenient patches and cream and can be purchased without a prescription from pharmacies including online pharmacies.
Note: emla® is a Schedule 2 Pharmacy Medicine and should be requested from your pharmacist. (emla® is not stocked on general display shelves).

Wow, that sounds quite. . . .odd. I can usually stand the pain of beauty treatments, so I might pass this one.

Hmmm, I've never had that much trouble with waxing that I think I would be rushing straight to the shop for this one, though it makes me wonder whether it would be useful for piercings or injections.

I went throught child birth without pain killers, so waxing is a no brainer. Sorry, but I am going to give it a miss.

This is also really good for if you are planning on getting a tattoo!!! Just make sure to follow the instructions and apply it with enough time before hand!!!

I've also withstood waxing, electrolysis and IPL without an anaesthetic, so don't think I need this.

Wow, imagine that. Now I know how people can confidently walk into a beauticians, get their brazillian and not want to rip the head of the person doing the waxing.....which is more or less how I felt, but far more graphic.

Anyone thinking of having any piercing done, the patches are fantastic for things like navel piercing! My mum is such a wuss, she even used them when she got her ears pierced!! I'd never thought of using it for waxing but.

good, because shaving isnt that effective, theres all the little stubs left behind ive noticed, and waxing ouch, that hurts to much, so this emla sounds easy and great, and if i get my belly button peirced again ill be sure to try it

Hmm sounds handy but I think I'd rather grin and bear it. Don't painkillers become less effective if you use them too frequently?

Yeah I think I wouldnt want to start using anesthetics for beauty treatments, maybe that's going a little too far for me.

I think that the best kind of pain is NO PAIN!
As a registered nurse, we use this product on children before they have to have needles and it seems to work quite well for them, but don't expect miracles we still had the odd screamer!

Wow I might have to invest in this. But at the same time I wouldnt want to complete numb areas as it is a good sign, say if its really hurting its a bad sign, if the wax is too hot and so on
