Say goodbye to bingo wings

Thanks to Booty Camp I have found my fitness calling. You would never guess it, but I’m a boxer at heart (or a bruiser, as bh’s Liv would call me). Not proper punch-in-the-head boxing (I’d probably cry if I got punched in the face), but jumping around jabbing and hooking with my fellow beautyheaven Booty Campers.
This is the part I look forward to the most and what gets me up so early in the morning (that and the fact that I have the best Booty Camp attendance record out of the beautyheaven team – I haven’t missed ONE SINGLE SESSION, and I’m determined to hold that record. Rain, hail, shine, hangover - I’m up and out there!)
I am such a girly girl, so I never thought I would get such pleasure from punching those pads. But it’s such a great stress release (me? Angry? No...), and great for your cardiovascular fitness.
If you’ve ever started an intense fitness regime after not having exercised for a while (like me), you’ll probably get to the point where you feel like you might throw up (also like me). So here’s what you do – don’t abruptly stop exercising, but keep moving. Walk around until the feeling wears off. Our trainer, Yaly, taught us that and it works a treat.
But don’t be scared by my talk of vomit! You get over the pain and exhaustion surprisingly quickly. Before you know it you’re doing sumo squats and push-ups with ease and getting through the day with much more energy. My arms are already much more toned and I am getting pretty darn good at those tricky boxing combinations.
So get out there and get your gloves on, and say goodbye to those tuck shop lady arms...

Favourite form of exercise? Body pump! It's awesome. One hour, two-three times a week for a few weeks, almost immediate results... terrific toning. You won't be running around but somehow manage to get a fantastic cardio workout too! I'm sold! Love it!

Dancing is my favourite form of exercise. After a dance class I feel energised and have so much energy plus it is great fun. My favourite is afro-cuban but I like to try new dances when I can. For a relaxing regime I love swimming. The water is gentle and soothing and I love the rhythm of swimming lap after lap.

Love it all! spin classes, heavy weight sessions, running , les mills classes, swimming, yoga, muay thai, ZUMBA!! I do a mix of everything each week
Agree with Laina - Boxing is awesome and it burns mega calories. I love my Monday boxing class - our teacher is a pro fighter so the classes are gruelling but the feeling afterwards knowing you have made it is so worth it :D

I've recently become hooked on Bikram or "hot" yoga. It's not only a great work out, but is fantastic for my state of mind as well :)

Grating parmesan cheese because it gives my arms a good workout several times a week. (It really does! I'm grating for a family of five who love this stuff!). Not only that but there is also a delicious reward at the end of it! Yum!

Kick boxing is brilliant for losing weight and getting fit because it uses pretty much every muscle in the body!

Walking, at intervals, works to keep me fit and feeling good. I used to do all that high impact aerobics etc, but found it to be harsh on my joints. The trick with walking is, to walk longer like 45-60 mins for 6 days a wk, watch your calorie intake and you can keep slim.
I occasionally do kickboxing, which really works on keeping your arm flab at bay, as well as pushups standing against a wall.

Dancing and swimming! Boxing is really fun too, I have a lot of stress to relieve and I always said how one day I'll get a boxing bag and put it up in the garage so I can have an outlet whenever I'm stressed :) Can't wait to do that..

I just love my Pilates. I have got a machine and I just get out of bed at 5.30am and hop on in my PJs. Half an hour and I'm done. Bye-bye to bye-bye arms and It keeps my tummy flat as a board. I never get back ache and its so zen I just float into the shower and off to work.

I like my boxing on the Nintendo Wii. The first time I just thought easy peasy but gee, after an hour my arms were so sore the next day. It really feels like you are actually boxing and knocking a person out.

haha, softness, i do the parmo grate to and understand what you mean, lol. Love the stuff but hate the grate! kiakat, i like yoga to, its good to have contrast as different activitie work the body physically and mentally in different ways :) The only thing about boxing I found hard is that when i decided to add it back to my routine I had to trim my nails short again so they were comfortable and not splitting and breaking while trying to punch. Was worth it though.

I like bike riding - but more for leisure than exercise! I do go to the gym, but can't honestly say there is any exercise I particularly love!
