If you’re going to go to the effort of doing a detox you might as well do it right and make the most of it. Make sure your your social calendar is empty and you're in the right frame of mind to embark on a detox and keep these simple tips in mind:
- Planning is essential. Stock up on all the foods and snacks you can eat so there’s less likelihood of failure due to hunger.
- Fill up on water or green tea.
- Make the effort to move. Go for a brisk walk either after lunch or after dinner. This will boost your energy levels, prevent you from snacking and make you feel generally healthier.

Detoxs have been medically proven to do absolutely nothing for you! Detoxs are just another way companies and book authors like to money. Our bodies have been designed to remove toxins from our systems, our bodies cleanse themselves.

I have been planning to do a detox for a while. Not a crazy lemon detox one, more a healthy eating, no carbs and NO processed foods. This just gave me the kick in the bum I needed :)

Iv had my wisdom teeth out and i can only eat soft liquid forms of food. This may not be a detox but they aren't healthy. I feel tired, sick and unwell.

I am only now starting my healthy 'detox'. I really cant wait to get into it! I have been eating celery and carrot sticks as well as apple and watermelon for snacks and salads for lunch during the day! I love how fresh the food is and it tastes so good! the other day I had a pie and I felt feral! yay! it must be working!!:)

I've heard these are really bad for your health?? I'd prefer to just drink a lot of water every day and eat healthily.

Yup I've begun my detox right before uni's started. I've just started taking fish oil tablets twice daily and am actively going to avoid eating the chocolate bar snacks which I used to eat a lot as an energy boost between lectures. Also for me there's no more eating all the convenient but oily foods at the uni food court and drinking more water!

Some detox programs leave you feeling like you have no energy - but green tea and water are things you can have all of the time
