Who would have thought vodka had so many uses? Besides being a great addition to just about any cocktail and a natural antiseptic, vodka is a natural deodoriser, so it makes for a great room spray ingredient! Here’s how you can make your very own home fragrance using the power of vodka…
Vodka room spray
What you’ll need:
16 drops of your favourite essential oils (try rose or lavender)
2 drops of peppermint essential oil
½ a cup of vodka
½ a cup of water
What to do:
1. Using a funnel, carefully tip all of the ingredients into a spray bottle. You can wash and reuse an old spray bottle, or buy an empty one from most $2 shops.
2. Shake the bottle vigorously to combine the vodka and essential oils.
3. Spritz around the house wherever is in need of a freshen up.
It’s that simple! One bottle should last you up to a few months and the deodorising properties of the vodka really do work in breaking down those tough odours. Don’t worry about your house smelling like a pub, vodka is odourless and the combination of beautiful essential oils will make your home smell heavenly. All your guests will be asking what your ‘secret’ is!

I have been doing this for years-my partner wondered what on eath I was doing when he first saw me pouring vodka into a spray bottle. The Lavender is nice to spray over the bed as it helps relax you for sleep.

Well you learn something new everyday, not sure I could spray the vodka though, a very pricey room spray, are there any cheaper substitutes?
