Not sure how to use nail clippers?
Do you find you don’t get a nice shape when you simply file or cut your nails? Maybe it’s time you switched to using nail clippers when your nails are in need of some maintenance – and here are some tips you should keep in mind before you do…
- Nail clippers are rounded to fit the shape of your nail, so you’re more likely to get a perfectly rounded shape than if you were using regular scissors.
- Be careful not to position the clippers too close to your finger. Ensure you leave a little space between the clipper and your skin to make sure you don’t snag your skin!
- If your nails are quite long and you’re cutting them short, clip off each side first (so that your nail becomes very pointy) and then clip off that point to flatten them out again. This will minimise the chance of splitting your nail as you cut it.

I don't use them unless I've soaked my nails first in order to soften them. My nails split while using them otherwise. I also prefer my nails square rather than round so they're not always practical.
