Don’t worry, beauty blogger Lucinda has made it her mission to bring you the very best in thrifty beauty thrills. Better still, she’s tried them herself and documented her findings so you can learn more about the things you can afford – and definitely should be buying…

 

We caught up with Lucinda for a little one-on-one…

 

  1. 1. What inspires you when you write your blog?

I was inspired to write my blog when my favourite blogs would write about all these fantastic products that were too expensive. As a student, I can’t afford to spend a small fortune on beauty products so I decided to start my own blog that specifically targeted those beauties that were on a budget. So now, I get inspired by products that are reasonably priced and are also of a good quality. However I still enjoy a few high-end products that I can’t live without.

 

  1. 2. How far ahead do you work on your blog?

I always have around five drafts that I’m working on at a time. Some of these are about a month old. Sometimes when I really get excited about one post I will write it in about twenty minutes.

 

  1. 3. Do you have a particular subject area that you enjoy covering? 

I love blogging about nail trends. I really enjoy trying out new nail art and taking photos to share with my readers.

 

  1. 4. What are the best things about having your own blog?

I actually really enjoy proving an advertisement wrong with a real–life test. I feel like I’m helping my readers by saving them money they would have spent on a product that really didn’t live up to its claims.

 

  1. 5. What tips can you offer for engaging your community?

Always ask your readers questions so that you can begin a discussion. I also think it’s really great when a blogger takes the time to really get involved with their readers.

Congrats on being featured Lucinda - well done! I follow quite a few blogs for different reasons (mainly bh gals!), but one that stands out is Magda's All the pretty faces (http://alltheprettyfaces25.blogspot.com/). I keep the links to blogs I follow in a folder called "Blogs", but I have Magda listed under "Makeup Artists". Her eye looks are simply stunning - the colour combos are exquisite and her blending technique first class ♥

Congratulations Lucinda....I am one of those can't afford the luxuries that I hear about and see.
I don't belong to any blogs but should have a look around. I do absolutely love looking at Magda's make-up eyes in one of the forum pages. OMG.....just so beautiful, mesmerising.

I don't have a favourite beauty blog, I generally enjoy reading all of the information because people's opinions can be invaluable. I have learnt so much through Beauty Heaven and the blogs I have read, the how-to's, product reviews and what some products are actually for.

Good work Lucinda. I don't actually follow any bloggers as I prefer to watch youtube vidz more. However I like to refer to blogs for research on a product, to see swatches, photos etc.
