Hand heroines

Soft hands are your guaranteed ticket to hand holding with your honey – so ask yourself, are you feeling the love? Even if you don’t have a special someone, it’s beyond important to keep your paws in tip-top shape. They do the most of your work after all!
Just think of how many times they handle food, get washed, touch rough surfaces and generally work hard! They are the equivalent to a multi-purpose beauty product that constantly gets a bashing – and don’t you think that’s reason enough for them to receive a little pampering once in a while? Whether you’re a laborer or a lady of leisure, here are the hand heroines you need to get your…well, hands on:
If you have a little extra money to spend on a product (and you know your hands are one of the first places to show the signs of ageing, right?), then I’d definitely splash out for some of the lusciously luxurious La Mer The Hand Treatment, you and your paws won’t regret it…
Evodia Frangipani Mini Hand Cream is the perfect purse pal. It smells like you’ve captured a day by the beach in a tube, and is so moisturising your hands will be good to go for hours.
Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Skin Therapy Hand Recovery is your deep therapy treatment for hands. This little beauty gives stunningly smooth results after just one application. It’s also designed with a 3-in-1 rinse-off formula that cleanses, exfoliates and conditions hands, and you know how I love a multi-tasker!

What is your biggest hand hero?

My hands are trashed from too much washing (working in customer service where I had to touch a lot of grotty forms all day turned me into a bit of a germophobe), but I don't think I could bring myself to shell out $170 for hand cream unless I win this week's jackpot lottery.
I have found Sally Hansen Hand Resurfacer (scrub for hands) really helpful. It smooths the skin out and makes it easier for hand cream to sink in nicely. Love that stuff. :-)

$170. is a bit steep for a handcream, it may be a good hand cream, however im sure there are creams available that do a great job, and are less expensive.

Clarins Hand & Nail Treatment Cream - no greasy feel, softens the hands and promotes nail growth. I keep a small version in my handbag and a full size at home. You don't really have to top up during the day either as it leaves an invisible kind-of-glove on your hands so when you wash them you still feel it working.

I love Jurlique's rose and lavender hand creams. They're nice and rich and smell gorgeous. My favourite hand cream at the moment is the one by GROWN. This is devine!!!

I could never afford to use a hand treatment for over $100 my hands fit the bill as described in this article, and are probably the most abused and neglected part when it comes to my beauty regime but I need a hand cream I can use regularly that is not expensive, I like Neutrogena Norwegian Formula coz it is cheap and effective or lately I have been using a beautiful mango scented Ecoya one, but my biggest dilemma is the hand cream gets constantly washed off, I might have to look into something like those Liquid Gloves, I need all the help I can get, haha :)

I swear by the Crabtree & Evelyn handcream recommended in this article - it really is amazing - especially at night before bed. I also love the L'occitane Shea hand cream, which is very rich, although a little greasy. Next on my list to try is the Trilogy Hand Cream!

Frangipani in a daily handcream sounds really beautiful - it sounds like it would be such a pleasure to use.
I'm currently loving the Dr. Lewinn's handcream but I love the Clarins hand cream too - it feels just right.

Unfortunately i suffer from eczema on my hands so anything perfumey or anything with water in it will irritate my hands - not good!

my hands suffer from washing dishes.LOL. I cant really afford to fork out 170 for La mer, but evodia frangipani sounds good!! I am using Vaseline hand and nail treatment. this multi-tasking product helps me strengthen my brittle nails by 50% as well as moisturising my hands, leaving them feeling soft and smooth.

My poor hands are always punished by hot water and dehydration, they are so very neglected, somehow they always slip under the radar when it comes to being beautified, I must remember to moisturise them more often, I doubt they will ever have the luxury of trying the $170 hand cream, wow that is a lot of money.

I've enjoyed using Evodia body products so I'm interested in giving their hand cream a go. Otherwise, it's Dr LeWinn's handcream with SPF15 to protect my fair hands from further sun damage! : )

It has been around forever and it costs $2.50 and I LOVE it! Your Nanna probably uses it and it's from AVON. Silicone Glove Hand Cream. A barrier cream that gives your hands that instant smooth, youthful look. Don't laugh, try it!
