Products with a pretty conscience

Would it surprise you to know that breast cancer is the most common cancer among Australian women? Or that it was predicted that 38 women would be diagnosed with the disease every day in 2010? (That could be every woman in your workplace – it’s almost twice the entire bh office. Scary thought huh?).

With 1 in 9 women currently being diagnosed with the disease it’s pretty likely that we all know someone who’s been affected – which makes it all the more important to support the brands that work to raise awareness and funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF).

Aveda Hand Relief™ for Breast Cancer Awareness – Aveda will be donating $US4 from the sale of every Breast Cancer Awareness Hand Relief to fund cruelty free research through the Nation Breast Cancer Foundation.

Bio Sculpture Perfectly Pink - A percentage of sales from the purchase of these super sharp pink nail hues (aptly named Grapefruit Cocktail, Bright Summer, and Funky Fuchsia) will be donated to Breast Cancer Awareness.

Jane Iredale Roses & Lollipops – This limited edition lip duo features two new universally flattering shades housed in a petite portable keychain locket. Jane Iredale will donate $1 from each duo sold to the Breast Cancer Association.

Dr. LeWinn’s Hand & Nail Cream – McGrath Foundation Pink Edition – The same formula as the original, Dr. LeWinn's will be donating 50c from every sale of the limited edition pink Hand & Nail Cream to the McGrath Foundation.

ghd Pink Orchid Limited Edition – With super edgy pink packaging, the Pink Orchid ghd will donate $20 of every styler sold to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

OPI Limited Edition Pink Ribbon Pink Shatter - The 7th year silver sponsors give 100 per cent of profits from the sale of this limited-edition pink nail shatter polish to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. But be quick, it’s only available in September and October!

Cedel Dry Shampoo – The gorgeous folk at Cedel donate $25,000 cash annually to the National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation. Naww!

Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion - Clinique will be donating $20 from the sale of each moisturiser (complete with a key ring with a pink photo frame wallet for inserting pictures of loved ones) to the National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation.

Dove Pink Range – With a range including anti-perspirant and roll-on deodorant, body wash, shampoo and conditioner and a beauty bar all wrapped in a feminine pink hue, Dove's donations to the National Breast Cancer Foundation are expected to reach $1 million this year!

Clinique's Mini Long Last Gloss Wear SPF 15 – I smell big money! Clinique will also donate $5 per too-cute lip trio sold to the National Breast Cancer Awareness foundation. We can’t wait to get our hands on one!

ConairPRO Think Pink Ceramic Curling Iron, $39.95, 1800 251 215

 - ConairPRO will donate $1 for each straightening or curling tool sold to the Breast Cancer Institute of Australia. The pink packaging is just the girly gift you’ve been looking for.

Eminence Organics Sweet Red Rose Whip Moisturiser - For every Sweet Red Rose Whip Moisturiser purchased, Eminence will continue to donate $5 to the Breast Cancer Foundation – and you’ll smell sweet to boot!

Great Lengths Pale and Hot Pink Limited Edition Hair Extensions, $10 dollars per strand, 1300 138 452

 - Great Lengths will donate the $10 from the sale of each extension (which includes both application and future removal) to the National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation – so you can rock the pink streak for a great cause!

Mason Pearson Pocket Mix in Pink, $99.95, 03 8587 4650

 - Mason Pearson and David Jones have teamed up for Breast Cancer Awareness, and are donating a portion of the sales of classic pink Mason Pearson Brushes to help fight breast cancer. Now you can care for your hair, and for the cause!

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Lotion – With a brand spanking new pink ribbon symbol plastered on the packaging, Thirty cents from each bottle sold will be donated to the Australian National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Tweezerman Precision in Pink Tweezer, $49.95, 1800 251 215

 – This year, Tweezerman will donate $1 from the sale of each Tweezerman Precision in Pink Tweezer to the Breast Cancer Institute of Australia. The limited edition precise slant tweezer features a too-cute pink background, adorned with the iconic Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Ribbon logo. We’re in love!

Urban Rituelle Gift of Hope Cocoa Butter Soap – containing a natural blend of vegetable oil, cocoa butter and vitamin E, this creamy, lightly scented soap is the gift that gives a lot! Urban Rituelle will donate 100 per cent of the profits from the sale of this soap to “Pink Hope”, a community assisting women and their families who are at high risk of breast and ovarian cancer.

They all sound great, and I'm all for supporting this truly worthy cause that is literally close to the heart of all women. My list of products to purchase has Jane Iredale Roses & Lollipops and the Clinique Mini Long Last Gloss Wear at the top - love the keychain presentation. I'll be keeping the cute Clinique pink heart on my keyring as a reminder once the glosses are used up...

Ooh soo many nice products.. But I will definately be purchasing the Clinique mini long last gloss wear, OPI pink shatter, Dove bodywash, Dr Lewinn's hand and nail cream and maybe the Tweezerman tweezers.
I think it's great that more brands are getting involved with this cause, as my husbands grandmother was lucky enough to be a survivor but two of my great aunts weren't so lucky.

I am getting me some pink hair extensions and OPI Pink Nail Shatter! I always support Dove, love their pink products, well and Dove in general. The more we support these wonderful brands the more chances there are of finding a cure as they donate heaps of money towards this cause.

I would love the Con Air pink curler. I think it is hugely important for brands to get involved in causes. I have for one, have a great deal more respect for any brands that support a cause, and in reality they do make good money from their sales, so any donation no matter how small or big is helping another human that is not doing so well in life.

Well done to all the companies supporting NBCF by donations from products bought. Women are the people who generally support cosmetic companies by buying there products so it only seems responsible for the companies to support this area of women's health. Well done to all the companies following such a positive path in women's health.
I would love to purchase Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.

I can't decide between the Jane Ireland Roses & Lollipops and the Clinique's Mini Long Last Gloss Wear. They both look gorgeous. I think it is important to support Breast Cancer Research, especially when it affects close family & friends you understand how totally devastating it is.

i always buy the dry shampoo so ill continue to. i think ill go out and grab some new cocoa butter and dove products :) I think its great for any brand to be associated with this but especially beauty products that most woman all regularly buy anyway, and it just gives us more incentive to do something good while still treating ourselves ;)
