Natural wonders
“Our native ingredients are some of the most potent and effective in the world,” says Gaye Heron, founder of Indigenously-inspired spa brand Li'tya. “Growing in such harsh conditions forces them to be packed full of vitamins and minerals." Some home-grown heroes to look out for:
Wild rosella – a resilient bush flower from the Top End rich in antioxidants and revitalising protein.
Kakadu plum – one of the world's richest known sources of vitamin C and a prized free radical-fighter. Also helps boost collagen and elastin.
Lilly pilly – a slightly astringent vitamin C source that cleanses the skin of impurities while helping fortify and firm.
Lemon myrtle – from our native forests, this gently astringent antioxidant stimulates circulation and also balances sebum.
Wattleseed – packed with natural fibre, the ground seeds of the Australian acacia make a gentle, glow-restoring skin scrub.
Eucalyptus – an invigorating and clarifying decongestant.
Tea tree – one of the world's most potent natural enemies of bacteria, microbes, inflammation and fungal infection grows in our own backyard.

We absolutely have some of the best and most amazing brands of make-up, skincare, bodycare and haircare in the world, and using Australian natural botanicals in the ingredients just makes perfect common sense, afterall they have survived this harsh sunburnt country...

I love some of our brands. It shows we have some very talented and driven people in our midst. The thing I love about this is that we Aussies really are quiet achievers, we don't rub anything in anyones faces, we do and create because we believe in it, not just for a quick buck.

ohh my post disappeared! Well I just wanted to say that Aussie products are fabulous - just as good as or if not better than O.S products. I prefer to buy Australian where possible - I want my kids to have jobs when they grow up.

Although I use a variety of products, I've used Aussie products Model Co, and Napolean Perdis. At Easter last year, I had trouble finding RPR products...but it depends in which franchise you look in. I would like to locate product 8 (Endota Spa River - salt and lime) for my mum's birthday...Can anyone help? Thanx

Misguided1, just a tip: any time that you see a product name highlighted in blue, it's a link that will lead you to more information, including stockist details and links to websites where you can find salon/spa locations. Follow the Endota link and all will be revealed! Tracey x

I have to admit that I have not used any of these products. Aussie products are so difficult to find. Perhaps I should be more diligent in searching them out.

Why do so many Aussie beauty ranges get given names that make them sound like they came from the other end of the world? Do Jurlique, A'kin and Li'tya sound Australian to you? If we are serious about Aussie pride and favouring Aussie products, surely we should give them Aussie names. The high quality ingredients will be the same, regardless of the name.
