All Purpose Balm
recently I went on a trip to India and found this product really helpful and handy in many situations.
One evening I was at the Red Fort Delhi watching the sound and light show and was bitten by mosquitoes all over my feet and arms. the next day I itched and itched and itched. out of frustration i searched my bag for some relief and grabbed my eight hout tube and smeared my whole body with it. it worked wonders stopped the itching immediately. i did this repeatedly every time my body itched and each time this cream stopped the itching. the end result was also lovely smooth skin.
used it for dry hands during the trip.
Used it as lipgloss , while on the plane used it as a moisturiser as my skin was flaking .
I will never travel without this all purpose balm. as i had weight restriction i did not carry too many beauty products because I wanted tyo save space for shopping. This product worked for so many things and saved me from lugging around too many products.

a holy grail product
I absolutely cannot live without this. I have very dry lips and this work wonders for them. A little really goes a long way and I've even got my dad onto it, since he has the same dry lips. I also use it on dry elbows and knees and for soothing dry/chaffed parts of my feet (thank you, high heels).
I know some people don't like the smell but I personally find the medicinal/herbal smell very soothing.

alright as a lip balm
This stuff to me smells absolutely disgusting and I hate getting tastes of it on my lips. I bought it after a friend recommended it to me because I felt my paw paw ointment wasn't really working for me any more. This stuff is pretty good but I do prefer other products. It definitely does moisturise the skin but so do other products and smell a lot better.

Intensely moisturising and can be used so many ways
I'm constantly finding new ways to use this. The most creative way is on your cheekbones for a glossy dewy look! I personally don't like this for chapped lips and it's too thick for handcream. But it's great for dry patches on the skin. The smell is incredie strong and I can imagine most people really hating it. But it isn't that bad, you will get use to it.

a bit too greasy
i bought this after my friend raved about the 8 hr cream range. It is a nice rich protectant however i do find it too greasy, i only use this cream before bed (on my feet, elbows and lips) it wouldnt be something i would apply before leaving the house. i probably would buy this product again.

A great healer
I have to agree with many of the other reviewers who said that this is an ointment rather than a cream. Although 8 hour cream is not the sort of thing I'd use as a moisturiser(it has no water content, and therefore will never absorb) I have used it to heal the marks left by the odd pimple on my face. It's also really, really good for wound healing (according to legend that's how got it's name...by healing a graze on a boy's knee in eight hours!). It's also great for fading scars. The lanolin smell doesn't really worry me, but the 'flavor' can be a bit strong if used on the lips. The only downside for me would have to be that it contains a paraben preservative. All-in-all though, it's a must-have!

great do it all wonder ointment
I agree with emilyhollywood on this one. It's a great do it all product and isn't meant to be used as a general handcream. I've still got a tube of this and I always buy one.
Its used as a barrier cream on your hands if you wash them all the time and really good if you have extremely dry almost bleeding hands; then you can apply this to the cracks and it softens and dry and stops that dry painful feeling.

The cream / ointment of 1000 uses!
This product is so wonderfully useful. I have used (& loved) it as:
A super shiny, moisturising lib balm/gloss
A soothing, healing ointment on grazes, scratches & shaving burn
An awesome cuticle cream
An eyebrow gel
An eyelash conditioner
A moisturising hair treatment (great on split ends)
A fast absorbing, smoothing salve on dry elbows, knees & feet
A fantastic treatment for dry, peely, winter hands.
I'm a fan of Lucas' Paw Paw Ointment also but I think 8 Hour Cream is much nicer to use. You only need a tiny smidge of the suff so the 50mL tube lasts for ages.

This is an ointment, not a cream. Great for chappe
I've always wanted to try this product since eons ago as I've read about its cult following in beauty magazines and wanted to know what all the fuss was all about.
So I finally bough a limited edition jar when it was on sale at my chemist last year to satisfy my curiosity.
It is very misleading to be calling this an 8 hour cream, as it is NOT a cream in texture at all. This is an ointment. In fact, it reminds me alot like Vaseline. They have the same ingredients - petrolatum. Here is the full ingredients listing: Petrolatum 56.8%,Lanolin, Mineral Oil, Fragrance, Salicylic Acid, Propylparaben, Castor Oil, Corn Oil, Tocopherol, BHT, Iron Oxides
This is good for chapped or cracked lips, grazed skin, dry cracked heels and rough hands and elbows.
It is too greasy to apply all over skin, even as an overnight treatment but I like using it to hide my dry flaky patches after I've applied makeup and the flakes are showing on my cheeks. A little dab and lightly patted into skin the flake is gone.
Other comparable products is obviously the cheaper Vaseline or Lucas Papaw ointment. For the price, I didn't think it was more effective than the much cheaper Lucas Papaw Ointment as I found they both did the job just as effectively.
I like this Eight Hour Cream, I'm glad I bought it and I know what the fuss is all about now but I will not be repurchase after I finish this up - there are better products out their for the price.
