As my hair is getting longer I find that doing the whole bun on top of head thing is my trick to taming my hair as the bun can look a little messy but I make sure my sides are sprayed neat. I love the height it gives me and it looks so pretty.

This is funny as I was just reading an article about how to tame frizz with curly hair. The best thing I can do for my curly hair is to let it dry naturally so I don't get any frizz. That is fine during the warmer months but not so helpful in winter. So, in the cooler months I dry my hair for a few minutes only with a hairdryer, apply a stay in conditioner and hope my hair dries quickly before I have to go outside. After trying different brands of shampoos, conditioners and treatments I have found that Shwarzkopf professional products and Kerastase products are the best for my hair.

Occasionally I'll succumb to a tiny trim just to knock out the really bad ends. I always keep a spray bottle of water on my dresser to dampen my hair for smoothing down in the morning plus I find it handy to dampen my hair when applying products because it helps to distribute it evenly and adds moisture (as my ends get very dry).
When I've used my straightening iron (for curling) a few times in a row I love using L'Oreal Elvive Re-Nutrition Deep Moisturising Masque and I leave it on longer than it says to.
I've got fine hair so I don't want to weigh it down so I use tiny amounts at a time. Some really great serums I'm loving for my hair type are John Frieda Frizz-Ease Original Formula Hair Serum (love this affordable one!), John Frieda Sheer Blonde Spotlight Sleek & Shine Detangler (Wow again!) and Pantene All Day Smooth Light Weight Creme (inexpensive & light & great for kids).
For holding a perfect curl from a straightening iron I can't go past GHD Creation Spray - this really holds my hair wonderfully and neatly. This year I'm loving the Kerastase Nectar Thermique also for heat styling which makes my hair so soft and healthy looking.
Just in the last few days I have been so lucky to try the Kerastase Elixer Ultime too and this is amazing cream-of-the-crop stuff - it's scent is gorgeous and my hair becomes instantly healthy. It seems to me I have a few reviews to do on hair products because I'm a bit of a hair product fanatic and I think I've only done reviews for a couple of these. Better go check.....

I know it's a tease to say this, but I'm trialling the Kerastase Elixir Ulitme, and it's *incredible* for fighting frizz. I have wavy/curly hair that looks like a frizz bomb when the humidity climbs. Yesterday, I went out shopping with my hair down, having applied the elixir after blowdrying. I got heavily rained on, and fully expected my hair to be a crazy mess when it dried. Not only did it dry faster, but it dried frizz-free in soft waves. My husband even commented on it, and he NEVER notices things like that. So, I know it's mean to talk about things that nobody else can buy yet, but anyone who is prone to frizz really needs to try this stuff.

Thanks for the great articles Olivia!
I'm with Roxymisha, letting my hair dry naturally, after using a drop of Morrocanoil applied with fingertips to the ends is the best to avoid frizz...maybe a touch of A'kins Leave-in conditioner, again mostly on the ends as I have fine hair which gets oily, and flat, with too much styling or product.

After straightening I like to rub a tiny little bit of moisturiser between my palms and gently smooth all over my hair to stop any fly away strands from ruining my look. :D

I always have a hair band and some bobby pins on hand, they can cure any flyaways.

Great tips Olivia!
I used to tie my long hair into a bun and letting it dry naturally to avoid unnecessary heating/drying, but now I am at a bit of a loss with my newly cut, shorter hair.

Haha! Not even a hairdresser can tame my frizz completely! Sometimes I feel sorry for them when they do my hair :)

A good hair moisturizer works for me, I am loving at the moment, Redken's clear moisure, and Apivita mask, which smooths down my dry mane. I find it so much easier to maintain when a mask has been used. Makes my hair so smooth and silky

Dry shampoo is ideal, but I always stick with my Redken Extreme Anti-Snap to keep my hair strong and in top condition, DeLorenzo Rejuven8 The Ends to keep my locks frizz-free and looking great as well as using MooGoo Shampoo and Conditioner as a maintenance measure every few weeks to keep my scalp healthy and flake free.

I like the tissue and hairspary trick! For taming flyaways I moisturise my hands and when the lotion is almost absrobed I just run my fingers along my hair and that seems to work for me.

Starcaptain tends to agree with Forever_In_Love. I find putting my hair up is sometimes the only salvation if time won't stretch to shampooing and styling ;-p). One thing though that I find really works with fine hair but it's only possible if you're prepared to have MUCKY hair for at least 4-5 days. When you wash it again it looks much thicker and it's less oily between washes. AWESOME ;-p).

I suffered hair thinning due to my medication so a really good perm has been a godsend but I use Pantene Leave in Hair Moisturiser which give the curls great definition & stops the 80's frizz ball look.-Yuk !

Thanks for the great tips! I often have fly aways and frizzes and boofs with the slightest moisture in the air.
