Sexy bed hair

Q) “I really want to perfect that tousled, bed head look but don’t know how? Celebrities make it look effortless and sexy, what’s their secret?” – Lipstick Lovie, NSW
A) “In the months leading up to and after summer, hair is always about long and loose waves, most commonly referred to as bed hair. It is a really easy look to achieve using a medium sized barrel tong, following these steps:
Start with a thermal protectant while you allow your curler to reach a maximum heat before starting.
Wrap hair around the tong towards your face and in the same direction, at the same angle. This is so when the hair is brushed out it forms deep-crested waves.
When you unravel, pull the curl out to relax it and let the waves set in.
If your hair is naturally wavy be sure to use a moisturising product to aid in sealing out the humidity and to prevent frizzies.
Then, when blow-drying, place a diffuser onto your hair dryer and let the hair gently fall into the diffuser.
To best allow for a naturally wavy finish, don’t blow out your entire hair – keep in some moisture.
To ensure your hair keeps its style; use a hairspray to finish and DON’T TOUCH YOUR HAIR TOO MUCH.”

When I wash my hair I put it in a bun and let it airdry. I then take it out, and separate with my fingers and voila instantly wavy hair.

Oh I adore wavy hair, above all else. Super straight hair or curls never made me squeal like wavy hair does~ Too bad my hair is naturally pretty straight-- flat and boring.

The other alternative to achieving this is to sleep with damp hair in a tight bun. haha that's what I always do accidentally!

I spend most of my "getting ready' time in the morning on my makeup so my do is often neglected... I wish sexy bed hair could be achieved by literally rolling out of bed but alas, it usually looks like a birds nest, which means you'd probably have to forgoe about 20 extra minutes of sleep to achieve this look!

oooh this sounds fun! i should be trying that tomorrow!
However, i usually come out of the shower, blow dry the roots of my hair and clip it up for about 3 hours. Take it out and your ready for a slumber party!

I have been wearing my hair like this all summer. It is so easy. I just wash my hair then dry my hair with my head upside down. When almost dry I put it into place and spray it with some good old hair spray. Not only easy and quick but looks great too.

clever style guide 4 bedhair- mine naturally gets that look from heading 2 the beach, plaiting my hair after washing & sleeping in it till it dries overnight...As much as I love it it's a curse 2 me around my face as it always makes me look like a 70's reject, lol! GB, I also just learnt what the diffuser attachment on my hairdryer's for- Good 2 know!
