A funky Friday ‘do

It seems it’s time for a change of hair. Ginnifer Goodwin’s gone all short and sleek, Halle’s returned to her famous pixie cut, J-Lo’s been rockin’ curtained bangs; Aggy’s had the chop (again) and Rihanna’s hair just keeps getting bigger.
I’m currently in a state of complete indecisiveness about what to do with my ‘do so have decided on a modern French roll, as seen on the RAFW runways of designer of the moment, Dion Lee.
The hair was styled by none other than bh expert Brad Ngata and I think you’ll agree by the shots below, it looks très rock and roll – the perfect Friday night style. Need direction to make this style yours?
Well, first up, you need to section the hair into a low side part. The hair at Dion Lee had quite a “masculine accent with the wet-styling at the front” according to Ngata so you’ll need plenty of L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni.art Fix Max Gel, L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni.art A. Head Glue and L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni.art Liss Control to help slick hair back. Combining all three products ensures they remain pliable and don’t set too firmly so you can avoid that ‘crusty’ look. Phew.
Tip: you’ll need a fine-toothed comb to work the products through the hair. Lady Jayne Comb – Pocket is ideal. Using this, make sure the products are spread evenly throughout the roots to the mid-point of your hair and then secure into a low side pony (just to the left or right of the nape of the neck).
Next apply the gel mixture to the remaining hair – except the very ends of the pony – and then begin to twist the gathered hair in on itself and upwards. The trick? Keep it low and tight into the nape. Now pin for your life and voila – a funky Friday ‘do. Go get ‘em tiger.

What are you up to this weekend?

I Think Halle Berry looks just gorgeous with her Pixie Cut, It really suits her.......
Hmm, this weekend I'm off to the Hairdressers to get my Pixie cut back in shape and coloured as well. Then My son has a birthday party to go to, but apart from that, a quiet one really.... maybe a nice dinner at home with Hubby & Kids and a movie or two...... Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!

Lol, GB! Great recommendation, Sarah! I like this new twist look. Although, with my hair I prefer to do twists around the side. I was suprised to see a similar style recommended on Tuesday's "10 years younger in 10 days". It looks great on a lot of people and isn't too hard to pull off either. Plus there a some great variations i.e. half up, half down as well as twists up and around.
I'm also glad to see celebs expressing their personality through their hair and embracing different cuts and 'dos. It's so much more fun and interesting then everyone copying Jen Aniston's long, blonde, layered, sleek and straight do'. It was a great cut and good look. It just got sooo boring when so many women decided it was the look for them also! Even Jen got tired of it! Viva la difference, I say!

So jealous, Igauci. I really want to see Wicked, too. It's finally coming to Sydney in September so I'm going to try and get tickets then. Have a great time, Igauci. It's just work and study for me, I'm afraid. I might try fit in some shopping, though! Almost there, just a week to go and I'm free! YAY!

I'm so over my hair at the moment, all I can manage with the time I leave to do it is a quick, low ponytail (with some height teased into the top if I can be bothered). I'm having pizza tomorrow night with some gal pals and hopefully getting in some reading time. I heard from a friend that saw Wicked overseas that it was over-rated but I hope this isn't true for your sake Igauci!

I am not going to follow the trend. I want my hair long again. Lots of TLC and patience and one day it will get there (its now shoulder length instead of a boyish crop). Weekend will be filled with study for 2 exams on monday and one wednesday. I am going to be one information filled gal.

Very cute and cosmopolitan 'do'! Have not really got any major plans for the weekend - it looks like it will be a rainy one so we'll probably snuggle up inside a lot and I'll try to get out for my jog if the weather looks up.

for some reason, the only thing hair styling products do to my hair is weigh it down or make it crunchy!

My hair is too short now for any updos.
Hubby has suggested going into the city to do some shopping either Sat or Sun. You won't get any argument from me!!! lol! We have some Myer vouchers to spend, so might just have a squizz at the MAC counter or something like that.
