Seems like waves are the common denominator in these pics! Love KK's bun - easy to achieve with the hair doughnut now!

I don't change anything for special occasions, other than spending a bit longer blow-drying to get as much gloss and shine happening as possible. Some great looks here though - Salma's hair looks fabulous, and Amber's bun gives her a beautifully balanced profile...

Love love love Amber Heards twisty updo! What I wouldnt give to be able to do that on my own hair! Also liking Catherine Zeta Jones' take on half up and Olivia Wildes Messy bun. A little bit of old hollywood a la Rosie cant go wrong either (not fair how anything would look good on her though!!)

It really depends on how I feel as too how I want to wear my hair. I like to create different looks sometimes, I am lucky to have hair that is thick and versatile. ###Sandra

Sofia Vergara and Olivia Wilde look gorgeous as per usual. And Mischa Barton is looking extremely healthy!

I've got a similar style and length to Lea Michele's so I'd love to try that look if I had more skill. I think Catherine Zeta's look is really pretty also, but don't think it would work on me unfortunately.

I love all of these but would have no idea how to do any of these styles, and I don't think my hair would hold the waves unfortunately. My 'special event' hair is pretty much my normal hairstyle - long and straight - but I do take a bit of extra care to make sure it looks perfect.

I'm usually pretty low maintenance when it comes to my hair. If I could get it professionally styled, I would love to sport some soft loose curls instead of my usual straight hairstyle.

Is there any 'special occasion' looks for those with shorter hair? I have a work xmas party to go to which is formal but my hair is just above my shoulders and I'm at a loss as to how to style my hair.

These all look so good, but I know if I did a loose updo like these my hair would all fall out and I'd look um, less than elegant. The secret must be good support products. Not sure what though since they all look so nice and natural and yet are obviously staying in place through the evening.

Love all the looks but my favourite look is the up sweep of Olivia Wilde. It looks so natural and easy to do.

To go out somewhere special I'll wear it down with curly waves put into it with the straightener. It feels special that way because my hair is dead straight every other day.
