Cruise into carefree hair

Ok, so you may not be able to afford the clothes (or even the bag for that matter!), but you can certainly recreate the cool and carefree waves sported on the latest Chanel Cruise collection catwalk.
Created by Jon Pulitano, Creative Director of Sydney’s Headcase Hair and ambassador for Cloud Nine, this laid-back summer hair look is perfect for a day at the beach or an evening of casual cocktails.
“The look was very soft and natural looking but also very polished – exactly what you would expect from Chanel,” says Jon. “It’s a style that looks totally luxurious but is relatively easy to achieve – exactly what you want for summer.”
Even better, this stunning summer style can be achieved without scorching the hair. Cloud Nine has six heat options, with a temperature to suit all hair types and styling needs. This Chanel look can be achieved at a 100° degree setting for fine hair, a 150° setting for medium hair, and a 200° setting for thick hair.
Here's how to do it...
1.) Starting on clean dry hair, use a thickening spray to add body and bounce. Bh likes: Paul Mitchell Lemon Sage Thickening Spray.
2.) Once the hair is wet through, dry with a hairdryer.
3. Give the hair a light brush but don’t over do it – the aim is to leave the hair with a fluffy texture. “It’s important to leave the hair with texture and a bit of fluff – this really helps to make the hair sparkle and glisten in the sunlight,” says Jon.
4.) Split your hair into a middle part and bring each section of hair over each shoulder.
5.) Using a Cloud Nine Wide Iron (set to the appropriate heat setting) and starting at the roots, clamp your hair in the iron and curl it under 360 degrees. Next, move the iron down the hair and reverse the curl out 360 degrees the other way. “This will emulate the way hair curls naturally at the beach – but with a much more polished finish,” says Jon. “The black ceramic plates in the Cloud Nine irons will give added shine and sparkle to the hair.”
6.) Continue until there is an inch or two left to go, then leave the ends unironed.
7.) To finish, use your fingers to gently tousle your hair, before giving it a final spritz with a wax spray. Bh likes: KMS California Hairplay Dry Wax.

How do you prefer to wear your hair during summer? Do you play around with different styles?

LOVE your new pic Deb - beauuwdiful!!
I love the hair looks here as it doesn't look 'done'
While summer is gracing us with it's presence here in Syd i'm embracing the high pony and I also love to braid the front part of the hair

I like to lop my hair off evry summer to keep it off my neck. Is it just me - or does that look just make the hair seem dull and messy? Cant say I like it all that much, to me they dont look "finished". Maybe a spritz with a shine serum or slightly blonder hightlights might improve this.

Love the new pic Deb!!
I always wear my hair the same way - BORING - it's the only thing that works with my features plus I'm not good at styling... it's always out, it's curly/wavy so it's low maintenance, just the way I like it :)
These models would look awesome even with a potato sack on them!! :)

I like to clip my hair up after it's washed and slightly towel dried, it helps to re-define my perm curls and when I let it down after a few hours it is nice and wavy. I wouldn't mind wearing it just straight either.

I just scrunch mine and let it dry with the natural waves, i have shortish hair and it seems to be best that way when i can let it dry naturally in summer

I change all the time, I love beach waves or pulled back into a bun…
Or structured messy curls, and my special up-do, or a side plait…
Depends where I am, and how much time I have!!
I prefer waves/curls and messy…. And this year I’m loving length… xox

I'm pretty boring when it comes to my hair - I straighten it or tie it up into a pony tail and that's as creative as I get!

Oh I have to try this curling- going in both directions. Lately I've been curling my hair with my straightener which has been working a treat!

I wear it down mostly in summer - I like to let the sun get all over it! I do like to play around with it but often end up just wearing it down and tousled a bit. Sometimes I'll wear a band - but not straight across my head - it suits me better if I have it placed more forward.

I keep my hair just above shoulder length. Summer is the time when my hair can look the best as I can let it dry naturally after putting in a curl enhancer product. My hair is best when it dries without the need of a hairdryer. The only change I can have is straightening it. I only do that for special occasions.

I mostly wear my hair up anyway and even when i don't i can't stand having my hair on my neck in the summer because it makes me feel even hotter.

Loving the new pic Deb!! I play around with getting my hair up off my back during the hotter summer months. It's going to be a new challenge for me this year with my newly bobbed locks! My hair is really thick too, so lots of pinnys will be needed.

Love the new piccie Deb :) I often wear my hair like the style here but also like it up in a ponytail or plait for summer. Long hair can turn the heat up making me feel even hotter if its not off my face and neck!

I make sure my hair is long enough in summer to be able to put up and make my neck cooler..I like letting my hair dry naturally but use a leave-in conditioner to protect the ends

Awww thanks guys!
But it's actually a bit of an old pic - from when i first started at bh. My hair is no-where near that long now and i wish it was...sigh...so i guess it's more of an aspirational picture ;-)

That picture is so you Deb! :)
I love to wear it up during summer because sometimes if I try other styles and it's muggy, well it ends up like one giant fluff ball. :D

90% of the time I leave it down, and occasionally I'll put it up in a pony if it's super-hot, or I am having a bad day.

i love this look , my hair usually does nothing but fall back straight as it is fairly long and heavy! i usually like to wear my hair down, pretty lucky a brush in the morning and its as straight as ever! but come summer its usually too hot to leave down so up it goes usually a messy bun or ponytail. i ue to play around with my hair alot - a couple of little plaits a bit here and their pulled or pinned up a gazzilion bobby pins to pin bits of hair everywhere but unless its a special occasion i dont usually find the time anymore!

I have naturally curly hair and my hair looks ridiculous when straightened. It only stays straight for a few hours anyway. Not worth the effort of $$$$ I'm afraid.

I like low maintenance hair styles & looks. I have longish hair so i always have to tie it up for work during the week but i love to let my hair down on the weekends & wear it out :)
