Hot tip of the week: ban whiffy hair

The fact is, the sweet smell that comes with freshly shampooed hair doesn’t last forever, and if you try and make your blow dries go the distance, often that smell is gone all too soon, and replaced with a staler kind of scent.
Dry shampoo is one sure fire way to deliver a fresh fragrance hit to your head, however if it’s not your thing (yet), don’t fret, there are other ways to make hair smell as luscious as it looks.
Simply take your favourite fragrance and spritz it over the bristles of your brush. Then brush your hair from roots to ends. Your perfume will dispense evenly over your head without leaving an oily trace or a big wet patch – like it would if you just spritzed straight on to your head!

What's your top tip for freshening your hair?

Ive recently jumped on the dry shampoo bandwagon! What a timesaver!
To freshen up my hair I like to spray my fave perfume into the air & walk through it. It even distributes the perfume into your hair for a beautiful smell & it lasts all day!

Me too Tinkabella! My husband laughs at me when I walk through the 'perfume mist' but it's always just the right amount to make me feel fresh and confident. If my hair is feeling oily/full of product build up I use half a cup of vinegar to release the residues before shampooing my hair. Works a treat and for a fraction of the cost of buying a seperate clarifying shampoo

When I was blonde, I would take a little bit of baby powder and rub it through the roots. It would instantly give me that clean appearance and I was able to style it better. But I’m also a fan of spraying my hair with fragrance especially before heading out on the town, or even when it’s still wet before drying…

thanks for the tip, I used to spritz my hair... your idea is better. Dry shampoo is ok, have tried a few..... but not as long lasting as I would like....

Oooh I'm definitely going to try the perfume on brush idea when I get stuck.
I've never been a huge fan of dry shampoos because my hair is quite oily and they rarely work properly.

Woahh! Great tip! I've never thought of using perfume on my brush before. I use sweet smelly shampoo's and conditioners, but as you said, the delicious aroma always somehow dissappears. So for me the perfume idea will be a sure hit! thanks!

What a great idea! I will definately try this one out, on some occassions I have put perfume in my hair, but I wasn't sure if it would cause any damage, so I stopped. But the idea of putting it on a brush first is really good!

Wow I've never really seen the point of dry shampoos, but after seeing all these rave reviews I feel compelled to give it a try. Good tip too, but I don't like brushing my hair. It leaves my hair frizzy =[

I quite often spray perfume directly onto my hair but I have worried whether that might be bad for it ... in the future I will spray it onto my hairbrush first - great quick tip!

I haven't yet been able to get dry shampoo to work for me. I like to spray my fragrance up in the air in front of me then walk into it!

The perfume and brush thing is EXACTLY what I do when I'm too lazy to wash my hair or I don't have enough time. Great minds think alike!

You can find it in pretty much any Woolworths. I don't know if it's in any others though (:
