Works well with my dry hair
I have used a huge range of sulphate-free shampoos. Some of them are so watery that I feel like they do not clean my hair and scalp well. I have no such problems with any of the Al'chemy shampoos. Al'chemy Ylang Ylang Colour-Care Shampoo is a delight to use, and not just for its subtle scent of ylang ylang. For a low-sulphate shampoo, it creates a decent lather.
One challenge I've had with sulphate-free shampoos is that my really dry hair soaks up the shampoo very quickly. This has meant I've had to massage the shampoo into my hair quickly and/or do a repeat lather. With Ylang Ylang Colour-Care Shampoo, I was surprised to find that I could take my time when shampooing. So that's a huge plus for me. My hair is not coloured, so I cannot comment on the shampoo's claims of preserving colour.

Makes a decent lather for a product that is sulphate free. I found I didn't need to use much for each application either. Have been using this for almost 3 months now and I find it quite effective in regards to colour protection. I coloured my hair well over 6 weeks ago and, while there is visible regrowth, the red pigments have not faded to that horrible brassy colour yet. It also has a wonderful smell and obviously beneficial being free of nasties. 1 star off for the price though.

Really preserves colour!
I do like this shampoo. It's sulphate free so it does take a bit of working to get a lather up, but it does a great job of cleaning my hair AND preserving my colour, which I find few colour-friendly shampoos actually do. Smells lovely, not too strong.

Lathers surprisingly well
For a natural shampoo without SLS this lathers very well. Also, it doesn't leave my hair really knotty afterwards like some shampoos do. My hair felt really balanced, it wasn't too oily or dry even after a day my hair didn't turn into an oil stick like it usually does.

A great shampoo without any nasties
I bought this product when I was looking for a more natural shampoo to wash my coloured hair. I found the shampoo gently cleansed my hair without drying it out. It also helps to preserve my hair colour. It did take a little getting used to, as I found that it didn't lather as other shampoos, so the first couple of times I used double the amount needed, just to try to work up some later. But the fact that it doesn’t later is just because it doesn’t contain any nasties, as after washing the hair, it is left perfectly clean and shiny, without leaving behind any residue or build up. I really love the fact that that are no sulfates and parabens in this range, and my hair is loving it too.It has a lovely floral fragrance, which is subtle, although stil lingering in the hair afterwards. I can definitely recommend this.

I bought this product when I was looking for a more natural shampoo to wash my coloured hair. I found the shampoo gently cleansed my hair without drying it out. It also helps to preserve my hair colour and keep it looking radiant in between salon visits. I highly recommend this shampoo to other people with coloured hair!

Well suited to my hair
After not having much success with the Alchemy Rosemary shampoo, I tried this one. Fortunately, it seems my hair is better suited to the Ylang Ylang shampoo. I couldn't fault this. It smells great, foams well and leaves my hair really soft. For my hair personally I find that I don't have to use a lot to get a decent 'foam' as I normally would using a natural shampoo.

I was very excited to try this shampoo and conditioner after so many rave reviews, and this made my hair a birds nest! However I have platinum blonde hair so perhaps that is why?

I bought this product because I wanted something natural. However, I'm not a big fan of the ylang ylang scent. It also doesn't sud very well, which is expected since it doesn't contain SLS, but it also seemed really difficult to get the shampoo all over my scalp and long hair. The colour care bit leaves much to be desired as well.

This shampoo smells amazing - quite strongly of ylang ylang, which is a lovely heady floral fragrance. The fragrance lingered in my hair all day which is a lovely plus. I bought it after I had recently coloured my hair and needed something gentle that wouldn't strip the colour - and it was perfect for that.
This shampoo is ideal for people with colour treated hair as it doesn't strip the colour. I have curly hair with a tendancy to be oily. I found that it didn't strip my colour, sufficiently cleaned my hair, although I did still need to wash my hair every day but it didn't leave it too dry or frizzy either.
I think the biggest positive with this shampoo is that it doesn't contain any nasties so it perfect for people with sensitivities who react to other shampoos
