The easy way to find your centre part, every time

Attention ladies with a centre part: This styling hack is set to change your hair game forever.

Ok, maybe that was a slight exaggeration, but the struggle to split hair right down the middle is real. #FirstWorldBeautyProblems.

Here’s how to get it bang-on centre, every time:

“Use the tip of your nose as a centreing point and place your finger on it,” says NYC hairstylist Matt Fugate in an interview with allure.com.

“If you part to your finger, you usually draw a cleaner line than just mindlessly trying to draw a straight line,” he says.

“When you use your comb, part to the specific point that is designated by your finger.”

Hairstylist Michael Silva, (who regularly works with Kim Kardashian), suggests using a tail comb such as the Lady Jane Tail Comb or the Freestyle Home Salon Tail Comb rather than a hairbrush to get that precise line.

“Look in a mirror for accuracy,” he says. “Keep the tail of the comb flat on the scalp and go straight back.”

Other things to keep in mind:

  • Find your part when your hair is wet or damp.
  • Follow the part all the way through to the back of your head.
  • Use decent force against your scalp so you get a good, clean sectioning.

Got it. Now go forth and part away, ladies!
