My GHD lasted for 7 years! It is the only hair straightener that I have used which actually worked on my long very think curly hair. It made my hair appear thinner and straighter without the frizz which just doesn't happen with other straighteners I have used since. Off to buy another GHD!
Use a heat protectant serum just prior to straightening for best results

Wouldn't use another brand again
The GHD styler is GREAT. Initially it seems like quite a lot of money and not worth the price of a straightener however until you actually use one yourself, you don't know the value of it. I've had my styler for about 3 years now and it feels no different from when I first bought it. I have dry, thin, curly, long hair and the styler tames it so well. Accompanied with heat-protectant spray my hair comes out with a smooth professional finish that you would expect from a hairdresser. It takes approx. 30secs to fully heat up which is great if you are on the go. There are so many great things I could list about this product but I genuinely recommend this product to everyone.
I advise anyone to use a good comb and heat protectant spray to give your hair a salon finish. Make sure you buy a few clips and straighten your hair in sections as if you do it in large sections it will lack "straightness" and in an hour or so will become fluffy or frizzy rather than tamely straight.

Why would you even consider buying another styler?
I have long blonde hair and have been using my GHD for 5 years. It doesn't take me any longer than 5 minutes to style my hair in the morning. Whether that be straightening of curling. Heats up quick and even turns it self off if you forget to. My hair holds the curls really well without any extra styling product. After 5 years it is still looks and acts as if it's brand-spanking new.

I have had a GHD for years and years and it is my go to Beauty Item.
I use it daily and my hair is still strong and healthy. It straightens perfectly and is the best straighter i have used. It also curls easily too. The heat is perfect for my hair. I love that it has the sleep mode function because i have left it on many times and left the house!!!
Use as directed.
Anyone wanting straight or curly hair

I got these as a Xmas present from my family and after trying a few other cheaper ones before hand, I wished I had got these sooner. I have wild hair and these so far are the only straightens that work for me. They don't dry my hair out like other have and make my hair smooth and silky (cant stop playing with my hair after use). As I do have thick hair I do have to take small sections at a time but it is worth the time it takes to get lovely straight shiny hair. Worth every penny.

Best straightener ever
I'd tried other straighteners but until I tried a friends GHD I just didn't think straightening my hair was ever going to work for me. 15 minutes and I have smooth, straight hair without the frizzy-ness other straighteners have left me with. I love the curved barrels too which allow a switch between curly and straight styles. Love, love, love!!!
Be sure to section hair well and work from the bottom up.
I have wavy, fairly thin hair (but lots of it) so it takes a bit to tame but I've seen afros tamed with a GHD so I'd recommend this tool to anyone :)

I've had my GHD for years and its incredible! Its never failed me. Not only can I curl my hair but I also end up being up to curl it! I can totally rely on it for big events or just my day to day life. I love it!
A protecting hair spray is always an essential

For Poker straight hair
This is one awesome tool your hair will stay straight for a few days if you keep away from water. the only reason I give it 4 not 6 is that even with heat spray it still dried out my ends rather badly.Does a mean curl too :-)
Use extra heat protectant on ends & dab on oil after straightened/curled.

Dont waste your time on other cheap straighteners - invest in a GHD as it will pay for itself in no time! I have bought 2 GHD straighteners over 5 years. It has never burnt my hair (or me) and despite using it at least every two weeks, my hair remains smooth, soft texture.

After reading so many reviews about the GHD IV Styler both online and word of mouth (including my hairdresser) I decided to spend the extra money and invest in one. I've now used it a few times and I'm disappointed as I don't find it any better than my previous straighteners which were a lot cheaper. Even though it has a great feature of heating up within seconds, the time taken to straighten hair is still quite long and I found that my hair didn't hold as long as expected. I went to a wedding last time I used it and I had to restraighten it between church and reception as it started to lose it's hold. By the end of the night it was getting wavy again rather than staying nice and silky smooth straight. I used anti frizz heat protector spray but still had fly away hairs. My hair is quite thick and curly so I had it cut shorter and thinned out but this still didn't make much difference to the end result. My sister who has much thinner, straighter hair also tried it and said she found it no better than other brands and below her expectations. I'm just not sure what the hype is about as my previous straighteners were just as good (some I'd say even better) then the ghd so unfortunately I'm disappointed with this one.
If you can test one out in a store before you buy or at your hairdresser do this as it's quite expensive and you want to be sure it's worth the investment
