It's time to try one of these on-trend and oh-so drool-worthy new season hair shades

We all know that sometimes a simple change of hair colour is all you need to lift your spirits, give you that boost of confidence, and make you feel like a whole new woman.

So if you’re looking to change things up with your hair hue, you might want to try one of these on-trend and oh-so drool-worthy new season hair shades:

Plum perfection
As seen on: Rihanna, Deena Cortese (of Jersey Shore fame), and Amy Childs
A deep plum hair colour might seem a little risky, but the rewards will totally be worth it in the end. The shade is perfect for the colder months and will be sure to make your hair stand out from the crowd.
Achieve it with:
Clairol Nice ‘n Easy in Dark Burgundy Brown
Schwarzkopf Live Salon Permanent in Deep Burgundy
John Frieda Precision Colour Foam in Radiant Red Deep Cherry Brown

Dip-dyed ends
As seen on: Lauren Conrad, Kate Bosworth, and Nicki Minaj
It all started with Lauren ‘LC’ Conrad, but this fun and out-there trend has spread like wildfire. Whether you opt for a permanent or temporary result, a simple lighter shade, or multi-coloured ends, there’s no denying this is one hair trend that packs a punch.
Achieve it with:
Kevin.Murphy color bug, $24.95, 1800 104 204
Schwarzkopf Nordic Blonde Ultimate Lightener L1++
Fudge Paintbox, $18.95, 1300 764 437

Block colour
As seen on: Kim Kardashian, Jessie J, and Leighton Meester
Sure, highlights and lowlights can add depth and dimension to make your hair look fabulous, but the strength of a single block colour can give your look an extra bit of edge that’s perfect for autumn. Warm, rich tones of browns and blacks are just what you’ll need to fight the cold in the coming months.
Achieve it with:
La Biosthetique Glam Color Advanced in Espresso
Clairol Color Blend Foam in Dark Brown
L’Oreal Paris Sublime Mousse in Sensual Black

Vibrant red
As seen on: Florence Welch, Christina Hendricks, and Emma Stone
Redheads had it pretty rough for a few years, but they can breathe easy now, with vibrant red hues being all the rage this autumn and winter. And for those looking to make the change over to red hair, we applaud you for embracing the show-stopping shade.
Achieve it with:
Schwarzkopf Brilliance in Hypnotic Red
Garnier Nutrisse 100% Color in Intense Red Auburn
L’Oreal Casting Crème Gloss in Amber

Looking for a change in hairstyle this autumn? We’ve got your inspiration right here…

With great colour comes great responsibility…

No, but I'll sure go for a more intense and deeper red - love the L’Oreal Casting Crème Gloss in Amber, what a fabulously rich shade for autumn!

I def want a change with my hair colour! Over it being sooo dark. Thanks, I have a bit more to think about. Love the richer tones!

Different highlights or foils as I throw alot of gold and it can look a bit scruffy. My hair aim is to fix my cut which has taken nearly a year to get the right layers without making it kink.

I'm at a loss as to what to do with my hair colour. It's mid brown at the moment and unsure whether to go lighter or darker. I love Florence Welch's hair colour, but it would be high maintenance and not sure how well I could pull it off...

No. I like to keep my hair natural, I'll dye my hair when I start to go grey....

Maybe, but i think i'll keep it natural. It's naturally chocolate brown.

Temporarily I could change my colour, but not permanently. Those Colour Bugs look like loads of fun!

I think I'll stick to my natural hair colour - black. To me, it's just too high maintenance to dye it and retouching regrowths.

I think I will go dark brown, a nice shade that is close to my natural colour. I think that is the hardest part of dying my hair, picking the shade. At the moment I have purple colour in my hair and regrowth of brown is starting to show so I will have to colour my hair soon.

I love the vibrant reds - I always dye my hair red though perhaps not quite as red as these - nice colour though.

Love my Fudge even if it is messy, currently using raspberry beret in my foils.

Gotta disagree on the shot of Leighton though, that's not block colour but a heck of a lot of very, subtle foils with a few more obvious ones thrown in to get your attention.

A few years ago I went for the plum look and then decided to go for a natural chocolate brown after that period until now. I might actually consider going back to plum this autumn!

I'm thinking of adding some red foils to my blonded hair.
