I have been colouring my own hair for 6 months and have tried a few of the products on the market. I would have to say that this one is my favourite! I love the fact that it has darkest brown as a colour. Other brands seem to have dark brown then black. I really am darkest brown and have found this colour to work perfectly.
There is everything you need within the box the instructions are easy to follow and the product easy to apply. I really found it fuss free.
After washing and drying my hair I was impressed to see it was glossy and that the softness had been restored. Now I don’t need to spend hundreds in salon for the same results. = very happy me.

Excellence In Home Hair Colour - Top of the Ladder
BEST IN BEAUTY AWARDS REVIEW 2012
L'Oreal Paris Excellence Creme Hair Colour in the shade Dark Golden Brown comes boxed in kit form to home colour hair.
I have dark brown hair with grey hair in regrowth since my last home colour.
The colour gives 100% coverage to grey hair. Yay.
A Protective Pre-Colour Serum is supplied to apply to damaged parts of hair.
The lightweight creamy serum stays in hair, not to be rinsed out.
Chemicals mixed, the colourant is a creamy mix, easily applied to hair, the appli-comb supplied helped to evenly distribute the product.
30 minutes later rinse hair thoroughly and apply the Protective Conditioner supplied.
The conditioner is white, thick and highly nourishing, it is left in hair for 2 minutes and rinsed thoroughly.
The colour Dark Golden Brown is a perfect blend for my dark brown hair, all grey hair covered.
The colour looks shiny, rich, and natural, hair feels nice, the conditioner formula moisturising.
The look I created is 2 tone, dark golden brown blending into dark brown, looks stylish, my own take on balayage.
To supply a serum and conditioner formula to care for hair, signifies Excellence at the top of the ladder for home hair colour.

Shade - Dark Golden Brown
L'Oreal Paris Excellence Creme comes boxed with all the essential needed to home colour hair.
I have the shade Dark Golden Brown, it is a good colour for my dark brown hair.
With grey hair coming through I wanted a colour and brand that gives 100% grey coverage.
A big drawcard for me with regards to purchasing was the fact you are given a Protective Pre-Colour Serum to appy to damaged parts of hair.
The serum is a lightweight creamy treatment that is easily applied to dry hair before use of the creme colourant.
It stays in hair with the creme colour going straight on hair after the serum.
Once the colourant is made up, it is a creamy mix that is easily applied to hair.
One pack is enough to cover my shoulder length layered hair.
I made use of the appli-comb supplied, it made the job of applying the product a lot easier for me, the creme colour was a lot more evenly distributed through my hair.
The creme colour is left in hair for 30 minutes and then rinsed out thoroughly.
The final step is applying the Protective Conditioner, it is white and thick and feels good in hair.
The conditioner calms hair damaged by the chemicals in the dye, it is left in hair for 2 minutes and then thoroughly rinsed.
There is enough conditioner for several uses.
I love my new rich hair colour, Dark Golden Brown suits me, no grey and hair actually feels good and looks shiny, it's great.
L'Oreal Paris Excellence Creme can be purchased in Priceline and is Made in Belgium.

Uneven and dry
Though I have had good results from other Loreal hair colourants I wasn't impressed overall with this product. I used colour 654 in Light Mahogany Copper Brown which actually ended up looking more like a dark mahogany (darker than the picture on the front of the box). It seemed to take a lot at the roots and almost not at all at the ends in spite of the fact that I followed the directions to the letter. So my hair looks really red on top and brown on the ends and very uneven. My hair is also very dry on the ends now and damaged looking. On a positive, it has covered all my grays but based on the overall results, I won't be using this product again.

natural light brown
I find this hair dye an absolute satisfaction the color goes the same color as on the box your hair feels really soft and textured i really do advise this product to anyone who dyes there hair i didn't leave it on as long as 30 minutes to be on the safe side tho i just left mine on 20 minutes instead so yeah i am really please i have no complaints what so ever it is l'oreal paris after all. Try and go a tone lighter or a tone darker than you already are tho for better results. I use a deep conditioner for half a hour after washing the color out then rinse only because i have a bit of damage the conditioner prevents it from getting worse. I hope you find this really helpful .

soft hair after
I absolutely loved this product i have used so many different hair dyes in the past and i actually found this one to be the best. i have very fine hair and have found that other products leave my hair really dry and dull with that static feel.
But after using this product my hair was so soft and shiny .What i love is that it comes with a protecting serum you use before you put the dye on and it smells great it also comes with a comb you can attach to applicator bottle .I used black and i loved the colour after no complaints best hair i have tried so far

DIY hair colour
This is one of the many home hair colours I will use. I swap all the time and usually go with whatever is on special the week I need it. I find this easy to use, a bit strong scented when applying but smells nice after drying hair. The colours are varied to choose from. It covers my grey halo that surrounds my face and probably lasts me 6-8 weeks before it begins to become noticeable that I need a new colour.

L'OREAL IS REAL.
I love how it comes with a Protective Serum as i need it for my dead dry hair! The comb comes in very handy for an even consistence of hair dye and its not 99.9% but 100% grey coverage! Wow that's a first. I didn't see a trace of colour when i rinsed my hair and the conditioner really made my hair feel healthy! I purchased mine in 8,34 Golden Copper Blonde and it gave my jet black hair a wonderful deep brown that looked hot in the sunlight! Very worth the price!

GOOD BUT EXPENSIVE?
I chose a dark beige blonde for my black hair and it made it a really nice dark reddish brown. It made my hair so strong and tough, it wasn't try and the shine was incredible. I suggest though choosing a lighter shade than what you're thinking of getting, I would've gotten a medium blonde shade because I wanted to go lighter. Price is a bit expensive, but I love the pre serum :)

Made my hair black when i went for a light brown
I bought this colour in 6.13 light brown beige and it turned out almost black with gold highlights very ugly. The smell was really strong and it lasted in my hair for days. i left this product on for 35mins and my hair turned dark brown with disgusting golden highlights. the formula was way too strong for me, it might work for greys but not for me.

Excellence Creme with Pro-Keratin
Love this hair colour. It is long lasting (and I wash my hair every day) and the colour is great (Darkest brown).

Works well, lots of extras, fairly easy to apply
I really love this Loreal haircolour as you get not only good quality gloves, two kinds of application tips, and the conditioner but also the pre-serum treatment which really helps if you have dry hair prone to splitting or frizzing, to reduce damage. I tend to use the standard applicator and mix the colour in with my fingers, but it is still fairly easy and the mixture is thick and rarely drips, as advertised. It gives a good colour result, although rather strong if you leave it in for longer than recommended. It *has* been a little rough on my hair but dye residue doesn't come off in the following days and it doesn't sting my skin much. It iis one of the best I've found if you really *must* dye. (Which I must!)

Have a high opinion on this little beauty. Great to use, as quite easy to apply and no mess. Leaves hair not feeling dried out and dead when it gets close to that time for a trim.

The colours this comes in a boring, there are not natural highlights in it and about the best thing I can say about it is it doesnt drip. I guess its great if you want a natural subtle change tho.. but I never do!

The Loreal Excellence creme range has done wonders for my hair. I love the colours and how the creme conditioner helps replenish the chemical-treated locks. I didn't need the hair salon after coming across this product!

L'Oreal Paris Excellence Creme
I am impressed with the results I get from this at home hair colour. This is the only one I will purchase now because I know it gives good results. It is incredibly easy to apply and the smell of the product isn't too bad either. It comes with a pre colour treatment and conditioner for afterwards. After developing for only 20 minutes it washes out easily and doesn't leave any colour around my hairline or ears. It results in a lovely glossy rich colour that lasts for ages. I would be happy to recommend this product.

Excellence in hair colour.
The L'oreal Excellence Creme is the only home colour I will ever use again. I have found it is a longer lasting colour that some of the others I have tried and I am always able to find a new fun colour with so many shades available as I like to change my hair colour often.

Leaves hair soft, silky knot & grey free until the next application. Devine colour range to suit all wants, needs and demographics. The colour is easy to apply, great step-by-step instructions. Isn't runny like some brands and is drip free, a more solid mixture.
