Reviews for Live Colour (semi-permanent) by Schwarzkopf LiveColour

Where's the colour?
After deciding I wanted my hair a light pink, i thought I'd try schwarzkopts strawberry platinum. I naturally have light blonde hair which on the packet this colour is highly recommended for. So I put on the colour and waited. My hair didn't seem to be changing so instead of leaving it on the max 45 minutes I kept it on there an extra 5 minutes. There was still know noticeable change but I decided to wash it off thinking I may see some change. So I washed it and blow dryed it and to my disappointed my hair was the exact same colour. It didn't do anything. Extremely disappointing.

Absolutely love, love, love this!! I can dye my hair mutiple times without really damaging it, the colour lasts longer than the 8 washes that the packet says so quite worth it for temp colour, I have bleached hair so I was surprised that it works well on

The best blonde toner
I used to love using the silver toner on my blonde hair because its extremely affordable and It saved me from going to the hairdressers and spending 10 times the amount, it worked really well and smelt so great. I even have used it a couple times just to freshen up my brown hair and it has turned out great!

For the price it's great, easy to apply, the colors are nice however it doesn't last very long like other semi permanent colors ive tried.

I have been using BLUEBRRY for many years and do not use any other hair colours. I love the colour and comments I get about my hair colour. I am 57 and greying, and now my grey hair takes on a purple colour, and I love it. So does my husband.

No damage at all.
I recently just tried the bright red and it brightened my hair by two shades and looks great, shiney too.
I was surprised. It stained my hair tho and is hard to get out.. Will defiantly use again

I dont think it even deserves 1 star
This didn't work at all!
I thought by buying this dye to dye my roots I would be saving money instead of buying a bigger dye for more money. Turns out I was wrong.
I am a natural blonde with dark brown dyed hair, my regrowth was getting a little bit long so I decided to buy it to try it out. I left it in while baking a batch of cookies (longer them the time said on the packet, but I didnt think that would matter)
I went to dye it out about 1 -2 hours later with all it did was just wash out my hair.

ehhh hit and miss
I like the fact that this doesn't damage your hair and can be left on for a long time but I find it washes out and fades after just a couple of washes which is a shame because it's otherwise a great product.

CANNOT DAMAGE HAIR. LEAVE IT ON FOR AGES.
Iv used 10 of these ,in different colors and the results are very surprising...
Coloring my hair just got cheaper.
Might lighten one shade but I find the reds are very long lasting, and kind of stained my hair..

Rich, Vibrant, Glossy Colours
I love the result I achieved with this product. I went from a coloured dark blonde to the Schwarzkopf Live Colour in dark brown. My hair was exactly the same shade as the box swatch. My hair colour was really vibrant, intense and super glossy.

Hit or miss
I've tried this product in a range of colours and I feel that the effect and intensity varies depending on the colour. For really vibrant colours, I rely on Fudge Paintbox colours, but for more subtle tones, this supermarket brand will do in a pinch.

I first started using this product back when I was in high school because it was really great in giving a subtle change to my hair that didn't damage it.
The colour washes out after around 3 weeks or so, depending on what colour you use. I love the fact that every time I used this product, it would always leave my hair silky soft and smooth as if I had put a mask on it.
I highly recommend it if you are looking for a subtle change that won't damage your hair.

This is my go to when I'm in between salon visits or when I need to salvage a bad home dye job. It gives a nice colour and makes my hair feel healthy and soft.

Silver toner is awesome!
Use the silver toner when hair is looking brassy

Super shine and kind to hair
Oh, Aztec Copper how I love thee...
I have dark brown hair with reddish tones and very fine coppery highlights and this live colour gives me lovely true red tones, not horrid blue based fake looking ones. Since you need to refresh all red dyes on a pretty regular basis, there is nothing lost in using one that washes more easily, and your hair will love how gentle it is - plus, no risk of colour build up!

Fun colour selection
Me and my friends used to use this all the time, it's so cheap and comes in a great variety of shades. The colours actually show up really well though not always what you'd expect, my friend who is naturally white blonde tried the aztec copper and it turned her hair pink.. Still it's a fun way to experiment with new colours without forking out a lot of money only to be disappointed and find a particular colour doesn't suit you. Plus it only lasts about a week so if you don' like the colour you wont need to wait long for it to wash out.

Good at first
I used the blueberry colour from this range and found it to be rather disappointing. I have brown hair with bleached streaks in my hair and this didn't react well with the bleached streaks. This made it look very strange and the only good part was that it didn't last too long.

I used the caramel colour on my already dark golden died hair, and it was great- before i washed it.
Every time i wash it, it gets lighter- and now looks orange :S

Pretty Good (:
It worked extremely well for a cheap wash out dye.. the colour wasn't really what i expected it to be, the black sort of turned purple? but i was happy with it.

Shwarckoff hair dyes really don't work for me. I have tried it many times, once it burnt my hair, the other times it didn't actually even dye my hair at all. Even though I won this in their comptition and they sent it to my house for free I still am not a fan.

I often bleach and dye my hair all different shades of blondes, so i buy the Silver Toner to remove any brassy colours from my hair. It works so well, it's the only toner i buy and i've tried and tested countless brands! It works so quickly and is so cheap! It's easy and it lasts longer than many others.

great if you like to change hair color a lot!
if your like me and like to change your hair alot but hate to damage your hair with permanent hairdye then you will love this! they dont seem to damage my hair at all, in fact my hair seems to look and feel better after using them and give a lovely shine. also if the color doesnt suit you or you do a really bad job you dont have to live with it, just afew washes and its gone!

Loved the colours, I have used Blueberry and Mohogany, both great. They left permanent streaks. My hair felt like velvet! The permanent streaks are good for me, but bad for other reasons for some people! I recommend that you give it a go! $3-$5!

i loved these as a kid, they were only $2.50 then so was right in my price range, could experiment with colours with greatest of ease.

Fun to experiment!
This product is ideal if you want to experiment with different hair colours. Simply last up to about 1 week in my hair before its starts to fade out, although the packaging says differently. I found it added a healthy shine but recommend using a leave in conditioner treatment as it can leave your hair feeling dry.

Not worth it
I have used this to dye both my own hair and someone else's, and I can honestly say don't waste your money! It's not all that much money to shell out, but there are much better products out there in the price range. I found the colour drab and patchy, and it also made the hair very dry, straw-like and lacking any sort of radiance. I would not touch this product again.

I'v used this to do foils a few times and only once for an all over color, it's good and does the job but i found that my hair was left very dry and brittle. Also the full colour only lasted about a week and a half, that was with just 2 washes.

Nice, Strong, SHINE!!
Nice for a quick colour change. I feel after using this my hair is stronger, and is definitely way more shinier. It is radiant and I get subtle highlights, even on my naturally black hair. But they didn't really give me results, and do not use this after bleaching your hair!!

Excellent blond toner
I just used the "Silver Toner" for blond hair out of this range over the weekend - it really gets in there! I just left it on in the shower while i did the routine. Leaves hair smeeling lovely and super soft, great for a quick fix for brassy ends in between colours.

Not for me!
This is good for those times when your hair needs a boost of shine and a little colour, i have dark brown hair and found that it gave a shine and a little colour but not as much as i would have liked.

Nice easy alternative!
Great and handy little product for those times in between hair salon visits! Refreshes the hair and gets you through until your next appointment.

it ok but could be better
I did like the colours from live colour for a quick hair pick me up. It look great and is it cheap.

great colour with no side effects
I have been usingtheese for years to give my colour a bit of a quick pick me up. I have used permanent colour for years but find it can be quite damaging if I use them all the time so I use the live colours for a quick colour touch up when mine is growing out or fading and it is like a conditioning treatment at the same time.

Good for a quick colour change
This is one of those fun products that if i want a non permanent colour change i go for - lasts long enough that its differnet, but not permanent and its always good for a quick colour pick up :) Have been using it since i was 16 :)

i like the blueberry one. it comes out as a nice purple colour on bleached hair. only wish it stayed longer.

Live Colour (semi-permanent)
I tried the Blueberry, although it doesn't come out the same colour as on the packet, it did come out purple. It is good when you want a change of colour but don't want it to last forever, or have to deal with re-growth. I have just below shoulder length, thick hair and find I need two packets because the dye is quite thick, it has the consistency of a paste, and is hard to get through my hair. It is a good buy for under five dollars, seeing as it leaves hair soft and you have a new you. It is great for a teenager on a budget.

Fixed my brassy highlights!
I did some highlights in my hair and wasnt quite happy with them. they were nigce but a little brassy still. I used the silver toner from this range and the brassiness was gone!!!! I was thrilled!!

Good Silver Toner
I use the Silver Toner in this range, to tone my blonde hair and get ride of all the yellow and brassiness. It is brilliant, one of the best toners I have ever used. One packet is all I need, even though I have long hair. I leave it on for 10 minutes as I have dark blonde hair. It makes my hair silky and smooth. Plus no more orange or brassiness. Recommended for all blondes.

good old reliable favourite
great for a subtle change. If you dont want to have a radical change, this is the product. Smells nice and hair feels great with the riinse. Doesnt damage the hair and lasts for approximately 3-5 washes. This product takes me back to my teenage years. It is a reasonable price too.

BEST SILVER TONER
I used to have hair light ash blonde. I would bleach my roots then put live silver toner on them after. always got asked how i got my hair so light all the time.! must warn you tho u must time how long you have the toner in for, other wise it will go purple. also if u put it on the ends of blonde hair it does grab the colour quick!!!
if your hair does go purple i found washing ur hair a few times does help.

Lasts a while
This lasts a while, but I noticed in my hair the colour was more of a highlight over my original colour, rather than a brand new colour.

BEST SILVER TONER KNOWN TO WOMANKIND
Many many many toners have passed through my bottle-blonde strands. This has been the best, usually I buy 4 or 5 at a time because at $4.39, when they're on special at Safeway it's AWESOME, usually around $3. I stockpile them like treasure and use one about a week or so after I have my roots redone, then again when I'm hanging out for the hairdresser again as it blends in the regrowth nicely too.

I occasionally use these when I want a bit of a change for a week or so. They generally don't last much longer than that. They are nice and easy to use with just the one packet.

In two minds
Yes this is messy as others have said but the colour is nice (Chocolate Brown) and cover the few greys I have. I am finding that this product is in the clearance bin more often than not.
Rating: Jun 7, 2009 9:08pm
I tried because it was cheap and it turned out to be so. The color doesnt wash off completely even after 3 or 4 washes. Stains the towels, shower curtains, clothes. The result is no good either, made my hair dry, lifeless. You would get a better product for 10 or 12 dollars more.

Good Colour good money
I only have a part time job that earns me about $40 a week so i need something thats cheap easy and effective, being in highschool and having dance and formals coming up i want a change but something that wont damage my hair, this works really well, but i wish they were more effective on darker shades of hair

Coloured collars and pillow cases.
While these colours are good for brightening and adding depth-of-colour for the short-term I prefer a long-lasting semi that won't stain my shirt collars and pillow cases. This product washes out very quickly, every time you shampoo more colour runs down the drain so it can be a bit messy. As I have fine hair that gets a little greasy and lank if I don't wash it atleast every second day for me this isn't the best colour choice. Would probably be more suited to someone with thicker hair that needs a conditioning shot but doesn't need to wash too often.

So great for when you want to give your colour a bit of a boost, or experiment with a different shade. It's a great price and it actually lasts quite a while.

I have thigh length hair, and Permanent colour takes years to grow out. I use this as a way to colour my hair and get great results. The colour washes out after a few washes but it is vibrant while it lasts, and this way I get healthy natural hair, in a variety of colours when I want it. Easy to apply by oneself at home with very little mess (if I can do it with thigh length hair, anyone can do it :) )

good for the price
I used the aztec copper recently as a filler when i went from blonde to brown and NO green so far!, the red colours especially never fully wash out in my opinion.. or maybe its just my hair!

Great for a colour boost
I use this as a booster for in-between salon visits to add some shine and depth to my colour. The colour lasts quite well for a semi and it doesn't leave the hair feeling dried and damaged.

Still using it!
This was the very first semi-permanent I ever used back when I was only 12 years old. I loved it (still do) while I was growing up and it's terrific if you only want a temporary colour or added highlights to your hair. An oldie but certainly still a goodie!

This is a fantastic product to get...I got this because I didn't want anything to dramatic or permanent in my hair.
I got Rich Burgundy and let me tell you it gave it a beautiful product doesn't come out really quick and its not a in your face colour its gives it a nice tint and it didn't wreck my hair. LOVE IT!

These are a great cheap alternative to permanent hair dyes. Ive used the red shades before and it leaves a subtle colour when in the sun and great shine. They are also good because when they wash out you can then try another colour.
