Topic: Help! I’ve got a beauty dilemma / Bad flakey scalp

Me too. I read a post here and followed the advice on jojoba oil
1. Before washing hair, rub Jojoba oil all over scalp and wait 15 minutes, then wash hair as normal
2. As part of my skin care routine, I now put jojoba oil on my face, with some oil on my fingertips, I also put oil on my hairline, so if my scalp dries out the next day, it’s not as obvious, but won’t be to oily.

Topic: Talkback / BH Trial Team

I am not on the BH trial, but this is my day 6 using the SH Miracle gel polish. There is a bit of tip wear showing, but my mani is still quite glossy. I am itching to change the colour, 6 days wearing the same polish is getting a bit boring for me, but I also want to see how much longer it will last for, plus see how difficult it is to remove.

Claire88, Just wondering where did you get yours? I went to 2 priceline and only 1 stocks miracle gel. The one that stocks it has only a few colour and the shop assistant says it’s for limited time only.

Hi Cocoabutter, I am in WA and the largest selection was at Innaloo Priceline and a smaller selection at Floreat Forum. I have since been to Morley Galleria and Karrinyup Priceline stores and they don’t stock them yet.

The polishes remove very easily too, just like regular nail polish :)

Thanks. Maybe they just started stocking them. Did those Priceline only sell them as a pack with the top coat?
Yes they did, so if you can grab one whilst they are half price its a good buy $9.95 for both the colour and top coat :)
Claire88 I am on the trial team, I liked the nail polish but not the colour (pretty piggy). I was hoping I can get something neutral like yours. The Pricelines in Melbourne doesn’t have anything subtle…Oh well I will wait till the next discount….

Topic: Make-up / Brow pencil recommendation

Hi Joole,

The Rimmel brow pencil is great, just what I wanted. I got it last night and I applied with my “standard” pressure and my brow is not too obvious but I filled in my sparse end of my brow

Thanks so much :)

Topic: Make-up / Foundation reccomendations for combination/oily skin

I’ve been using mac matte foundation and a a finishing powder over the top but am finding my skin still gets rather shiny and oily after a couple of hours. I have some little tea tree blotting papers which I use every couple of hours. Anyway I’m thinking of purchasing different products, any suggestions?

For oiliness I’d recommend you try some kind of mineral product, they usually come in powder form. I love Physicians Formula mineral powder, they’re good & they’re cheap, but they’re only available at Priceline.
Try a few different mineral powders at Myer/David Jones counters. See if you can get a makeover to see how you go before you purchase a full sized product which doesn’t work effectively for you.

Topic: Health & wellbeing / Prescription Weight loss medication

I have heard that all weight loss medication. Have side effects. The safest way to lose weight is to do exercise, drink plenty of water and include the food which can boost your metabolism.

There is no magic pill to guarantee safely reducing weight and keeping it off because the reasons someone may be carrying extra weight varies from person to person. It can be affected by the usual suspects; poor diet and lack of exercise. However, weight is affected by other factors as well like age, genetics, medical conditions and medication. So the best thing is to first find out why you are overweight and then set realistic weight loss goals. The best way to lose weight is to first remove the hidden calories. These tend to be found in beverages. You can cut hundreds of calories per day just by substituting sugary sodas and juices with tea. There are a number of tea leaf teas and herbal teas that naturally have properties to act as a mild diuretic like dandelion leaf or chickweed. And teas like pu-erh can help stimulate fat metabolism and prevent fat absorption because it is a natural source of theabrownin and gallic acid. If you are interested in reading more about tea for weight loss you can find it here: http://www.naturestealeaf.com/weight-loss.html.

Soan my heart goes out to both you and your husband. All you can do is the best you can each day and if that is too long, then the next hour. Know you are both in my thoughts.
As for kids, that is a toughie. I so desperately wanted children but with all my health issues it didn’t happen. Did I make the right call, I’ll never know. I just have to live with it. I love my nephews and nieces but it’s not the same. It still hurts.
Take care & hugs.

I’m in a similar position to you Pink Hornet having not had children due to health problems. The worst part for me (apart from not having a family) is the fact that I don’t have any nephews or nieces. It makes me very sad to think that I’ll have to pay a stranger to bury me one day.

I hope I’m not budding in, but cat lover, your last sentence just made me so sad and shocked me that I wanted to comment on it.
I don’t have kids and it’s something that I live with, due to whatever reasons, but I like the way things are in my life.
I have thought a little about later on, but I see it as, in the end we all go alone anyway, so that’s it.

But what you’ve written is sad to read and I’m sorry that you are saddened by it.
I don’t have any nieces or nephews but I know that God does everything for a reason and that’s how I remain (relatively) calm.
I hope you have some strong friendships and support in your life and that you feel positive about the way things happen.
If I was wherever you are, I’d give you a hug cat lover.
I am quite sure I am blabbering again but just wanted you to know that I’m thinking of you and wish you comfort and peace in all stages of your life.

Did you know that the Playboy brand have nail polishes? I didn’t! They recently released a collection aptly called Five Shades of Grey, and I love the play on words! Come check it out and see what I think of the quality.

http://www.themadeupmaiden.com/2014/07/introducing-playboy-five-shades-of-grey.html

I didn’t even know Playboy had a brand of anything apart from the magazine, which I’ve not read!!! Now I am showing my age – big time!!!!!" Polishes look great, Coco. I can’t think of Shades of Grey without thinking of the funniest email I had from a special friend!!

Trish darling, are you sure you haven’t read it?! Hehe. Yes, they make body sprays which I like spraying on after showers, I find them refreshing but they definitely don’t have much scent to it. You can buy these at Coles/Woolies/Priceline. There are also perfumes in the same scents but I haven’t seen them around as much.

Haha…there’s so much ado about the Shades of Grey series.

Coco…of course Trish hasnt read playboy….no one reads that….they just look at the pictures :)
Aw, you minx. ;)

They are a bit blind to it, but wasn’t there any scarring or anything? Seems strange that he wouldn’t notice surgery on your eyes!!!

back then he was out for holiday, so he wasn’t with me when I was in hospital

Topic: Make-up / Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

You could try asking for a sample if you find a nice sales assistant :) I’ve used up a sample pot of the foundation and I do think it’s good. Light to medium coverage, beautiful glowing finish and a great colour match. I would have liked the foundation to have lasted longer on my oily skin, and hence why I believe GA luminous silk is not worth the exorbitant $92 price tag. When you’re paying that much for a foundation, it better be perfect skin in a bottle.

Susanah…I don’t know what to call this, it changes shades in different lighting! A truly stunning polish reminiscent of OPI Spark de Triomphe…check out the blog post for lots more photos of this shade!

That shade is right up my alley, just stunning…I just cant imagine telling someone that I am wearing Playboy nail polish if they ask for the shade :)

Haha, but Magda…it would be such a great conversation starter! :P
I am sure it would, Coconal :)
But I can see the potential to get guys interested in beauty products :)

Thank you Soan for taking time to keep us updated.
I know these are anxious times for you and your husband and I guess it’s best to take things one day at a time…..not get worried (I know that’s easier said than done) and have faith that things will get better.

I hope you take care of yourself and that your health improves as well.
Hugs♡♡
