Topic: Health & wellbeing / Lift Esteem

smiling want to add my admiration for you, it is difficult for you both. I am sure your husband wishes he could get back to normal, and he must hate having to put all the burdens on you, but you have shown yourself to be loyal courageous and loving, he is very lucky to have you and I am sure he knows that. He is battling his own demons at the moment and may feel powerless to be of any real help which is difficult for anyone to accept. I feel for you at this difficult time and a having a good cry is nothing to be ashamed about.. it is healing. I feel that you are a loving couple and I can’t tell you how much I hope that things improve for you soon. You are a good and kind woman and you deserve the admiration that everyone here feels for you.

Topic: Talkback / !! WARNING!!! HAUL:D

Chemist warehouse’s half price sale included revlon. Well timed as I was in need of a new liquid eyeliner, brow pencil (which they had run out of but are letting me know when they come in) and I got the revlon brow fantasy which I haven’t tried yet. Received a revlon mascara free as a GWP unexpectedly when I went to the counter as well as the vitamin D tablets as I had bought swisse multi vitamins and the swisse immune tablets- also half price. It was cheaper buying the large dry shampoo than the regular can so bought extras of those! I even splurged on hubby…he got a deodorant ;) total cost for everything was $91 saved $93..all stocked up now. And I’m pleased..I didn’t buy anything I didn’t need :)

Topic: Skincare / Favourite Sheet Mask or any Mask

wow you did well Growing old!! Look forward to hearing how you go with them :)
The packaging all looks very pretty too!

Thanks Oonga ! The first one I described was the better out of the two. Thalgo’S melt away mask is lovely and really hydrated my thirsty skin. The hylouronic one which is generally more expensive wasn’t as hydrating surprisingly. I’m on a mask obsession ATM :)

Topic: Anything but beauty / Cruise Ships

Has anyone been on a cruise in the last few months or planning one this year? I’m really interested in going on one, mainly because of how affordable they are with inclusions etc. I’m interested in the South Pacific, but let me know where you’ve been and with what company! :)

We have recently got back from a fantastic cruise on the Royal Caribbean ship
Voyager of the sea . We flew from Perth to Sydney and were picked up and taken to the dock
to board the ship, as we were early (6am) they let us board and gave us breakfast while we waited for our cabin..great service. The cruise was from Sydney to New Zealand seeing Milford Sound and other incredible sights as well as visiting 4 other ports around the North Island. We then sailed to Melbourne, Adelaide and home to Perth 17 days in all and we really did enjoy it all. Lots to do and see and the Food on offer !!! I think we put on 5 kilos!!! We found the staff on board really friendly and so helpful. One thing I should warn you about though is watch what you spend on board as you do not use money at all it all gets put onto
a “Boarding Pass” and you pay at the end of the voyage. If you dont watch out you can end up owing a lot of money, just paying for drinks and gifts and even coffee can all add up.
But saying that we did have a great trip. Go on one and give it a try.

Topic: Hair / Shampoo for Oily Hair

Cause of oily hair due to mostly heriditary, hormonal changes,
Daily… It is ideal for you to rinse your hair thoroughly every time you shampoo so that no residue is left behind or else your hair can easily attract more oil and dirt.

One of the best home remedies to treat oily hair is the use of aloe vera gel. You can mix the aloe vera gel with any shampoo to get rid of oily hair.

Apple cider vinegar is for the do a good job on oily hair. You need to make sure that you only use diluted apple cider vinegar on your hair.
Add two to three tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or white vinegar in a mug of water and mix it well.

Topic: Hair / Bleaching gone wrong sequel ❤😘

So. I’m back to tell you all THANK YOU. To the ladies that suggested coconut oil, you are all fabulous! I’ve been using it for nearly 3 months and let me just say wow. My hair has grown a decent 4 inches since the bleaching disaster. I tried out Hairfinity but after taking it for 2 weeks I ended up with acne, and no thank you. 1 week of acne was well long enough for me. My hair is on the road to redemption! I LOOVE! the coconut oil! It’s brilliant. And I seriously reccomend it to any body else who’s hair is feeling a little drab. Thank you beauties xx

Coconut oil is very good natural cosmetic.

Good for hair
Skin and more..

I would really like to go. But I’m not sure that I can find someone to drag along lol. Going alone wouldn’t bother me too much. I just think it’s the sort of event that could be fun to bring a friend to. I live in Vic so it would take a bit of planning and accommodation. The way my finances are going this year I will probably be too broke!

I’ll go with you!
I’ve never been and all my close friends are like "omg no I’m not going with you to a makeup thing "
Lmao. And the boyfriend won’t go even though I’m going to the state or origin and top gear for him. Omg no one understands me!!!!

Topic: Hands & feet / Dry feet Help

Here’s another you can look through
http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/forums/hands-and-feet/best-cream-for-dry-cracked-heels

For me personally, I use pure Shea these days. I buy a block and rub it on my feet plus its natural. I use and buy one from n- essentials. It’s only 10 dollars and lasts me 9 months.
Here’s the link to it- its pure Shea comes in a block
http://www.n-essentials.com.au/mobile/Product.aspx?ProductCode=BSBR.
Your probably going to have to buy something cheap at least to start with so I’d recommend that personally.. Pretty cheap.

If you really can’t afford anything at all I’d recommend finding some oil in your house even olive oil and putting your feet in it and putting socks on o/,night.

I make my own, all items off Amazon, UK, lanolin, unrefined shea butter, jojoba oil and castor bean oil. Zap all together in the microwave, 20 secs at a time stirring between each 20 sec then leave to cool and pour into a heatproof container. I normally soak feet in warm soapy water then use pumice stone to remove hard skin. Dry feet and apply shea butter cream and pop socks on. If you are interested let me know and I will give you the quantities I use.

That sounds great, I’d love to try that. Seeing as I have all these ingredients I will. Thanks lin

Topic: Talkback / A new bh is coming

While you’re updating… I’ve always thought a bookmark/shopping list feature would be really handy. So many times now, I research a product or find something I’d like to try, only to forget exactly what it was called! It’d be so great if we could save them to a list on bh from their review page.

[edit] I forgot, there is a “my favourites” list you can save to but there doesn’t seem to be a way to actually view your favourites? I can’t find it in “My Beautyheaven” anyway.

What you do is put /favourites at the end of the link for ‘My beautyheaven’! So: http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/my-beautyheaven/favourites

I forgot which beauty first told me about this but I would very much like to thank them! It’s been so much easier to remember which products I haven’t done reviews for :3

Thanks for the encouragement ladies – maaaaaaaaaaaaaybe I’ll consider entering. :o)

Don’t worry beauty_addict, I’m not ready for all the incredible things I’ve seen either. Still trying to master the basics, like for e.g. waiting long enough for my dots to dry before I apply top coat…I’m always smudging them sadly. :o(

I am seriously considering it. I wonder if I could contain myself and not spend too much money.

When I went, I found that I spent less each year and watched more of the presentations.

Topic: Talkback / Applying for Jobs/Getting an Interview (Yay!)

I have one more thing I would like to add to this after all my thank you replies.
So yesterday (the day after my exciting phone call about the interview) I received a text message… yes… TEXT MESSAGE from someone from East Coast Apprenticeships saying that that have reviewed my application (for a full time business administration traineeship) and would like to catch up with me for an interview! They said to advise what time would be suitable for an interview and they will send a time and address.

Have times changed since I last applied for jobs or..? This seems like a really informal way to tell someone they have an interview but I guess I’m not used to this kind of thing.

Being in a rush to get ready and leave for work, I replied to say thank you for taking the time to view my application and I would be happy to come in for an interview on Monday or Tuesday but I didn’t get a response though. Being the weekend I guess I won’t get a response until at least Monday?

I have been told ECA is pretty good and I would be equally as happy with a traineeship as I would being a perfume manager. I am so torn. I love perfumes, but in my pursuit of full time and secure employment, the traineeship would be more beneficial for me (provided I actually get an interview/the job!) than 20 hours a week part time. I think I would be shattered to turn down a perfume job, but excited to do administration too and get a certificate/qualification as well.

I am hoping I will be able to get an interview next week and know the outcome before the Terry White interview so I will know what to say!

Topic: Talkback / Applying for Jobs/Getting an Interview (Yay!)

Wow! I have only logged in today to see all your replies and I am so humbled by all your well wishes and advice! _ Thank you everyone!

Cat Lover, unfortunately I ended up in deli in January because I asked for a transfer out of the service department (I couldn’t deal with all the team bitching and back stabbing) plus customers at the store I am at are the worst I have had to deal with in the 7 years I have been working in supermarkets! I would look silly or ungrateful if I said no to a transfer when it was what I asked for.

Thank you MoonlightSak and *Kassalee*for all your advice, it seems similar to the kind of questions they were asking me in my Coles interview. I guess since my last job, I have gained a few more ‘times I have achieved something good’ haha. This is definitely something I would be/am passionate about!

Misfortune8 thank you for the luck :) I was planning on telling them about my sensitive skin issue so they understand why they’re like this and also another reason why working at Coles isn’t good for me any more haha! Especially since I had a work injury claim for my back about a month ago too :(

Imalittleteapot I love your suggestion about mirroring body language and eye contact! It reminds me of a lecturer I had in college who gave similar advice.

And thank you Trish and Cherry Blossom for your well wishes! I have decided to wear about 1.2 billion layers of gloves at work now to help protect my hands a little more!

Thank you for your kind words Rebecca, it means a lot and I am quite the perfume queen ;)

Haniibee, it really does suck trying to find more secure work doesn’t it?! For the 30 – 40 odd jobs I have applied for over the last week, I have either been ignored, rejected or lucky enough to get this interview. I really feel for you in your current position because I completely understand how stressful it is getting the short end of the stick at work :(

The only advice I could give is to maybe offer some work experience for a few places where you think you would like to work and use the experience on your resume and ask for references from those businesses/managers. Some places may turn you down though for (I think it’s liability?) insurance reasons, but others might let you. I know that employers look favourably on those who do volunteer work and have done work experience because it shows that you’re willing to learn and work for free to get the skills and some experience.

I hope this helps!
