So I heard back from Beth last night. Apparently aus post can’t deliver nail polishes, so bh have had to use a courier to deliver the parcels and they can’t deliver to QLD. So I miss out. Bummer.

Oh Belle, that is a shame they can’t send to Qld.
Aren’t we allowed to send nail polishes interstate? I’ve always sent some as a Christmas pressy to my friend.

I think it’s express post that you can’t send them through. That’s what I’ve seen on a website somewhere, maybe Adore Beauty.

Topic: Hands & feet / Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Trial Team

Yep, as Cocoabutter said, they’re sold in a pack at the moment (which is a bit silly)…I can only hope they eventually decide to sell them separately!

It’s funny that they are still cheaper than the Revlon ones which are sold separately. :P

The MUA at my local Priceline said they were only going to be sold with the Top Coat as a duo, which I think is ridiculous since I may want 6 colors, but I sure as he!! don’t want 6 Top Coats. In the US, they sold them as a duo as a special bonus at first, then just the colors on their own, so hopefully the same will happen here. And I have read reviews by a number of US nail bloggers reporting that the Top Coat works well with other non-SH colors. So it may be worth trying it with different brands. Maybe it plays nicely with some brands but not others?

That is ridiculous! My priceline only had two shades left, both of which I already have polishes in similar colours. I was more attracted to the the Revlon colours!

I agree with everything Jane has said, just want to add that although the ultrasonics are less maintenance and easier/faster to use etc… there is something calming about seeing the vapour come out of the ultrasonic :)
Particularly in winter :)

Think its the fact you can actually see that it’s doing something (producing the mist), as distinct from just getting the aroma.

That is a nice idea to do it with someone as you will have a support. I can also suggest you to check Duromine online. I heard these pills work really well. Hope it helps

Topic: Bodycare / Is Home Waxing Legs Doable?

Yeah, I’m not sure if I could handle waxing. I have a friend who waxes herself all over no problem and couldn’t believe the troubles I had sigh I was looking into laser hair removal but it’s very expensive…

I find that I have trouble with ingrowns from time to time, whether I wax or epilate. If it’s particularly bad, I’ll use Nad’s Ingrow solution but if it’s not that bad I’ll simply moisturise every night. I find that I need to start a day after the hair removal because starting the same day stings, and that I generally need to continue for about a fortnight.

I generally work on a 6-week cycle. I’ve noticed that both the amount of regrowth and the amount of trouble I have with ingrowns vary dramatically from one time to the next.

Topic: Make-up / Foundation reccomendations for combination/oily skin

I battled this issue for years. Seriously. No foundation would stay on my skin longer than about 4 hours. I tried everything. Primers, different moisturiser, long wear foundation (including Revlon Colorstay), mineral makeup, powders to set, powders to prime, minerals… Nothing helped.

BB cream from Asia worked for me. I think it’s because it’s made for humid climates? I started with Missha Perfect Cover which is good but now I like one by Skin 79. The hot pink one is good. You can order a sample kit of mini BBs from them. The coverage is not super high but you can always add concealer as needed. You will need a mega-cleanser too. This stuff is made to last! I oil cleanse.

Alternatively, Australis Fresh n Flawless Powder is pretty good. You can apply it with a damp sponge for extra coverage.

The majority of mineral foundations I tried seemed to make me oilier. :-/ Maybelline have one which kind of worked for me but it was not very “pure” – lots of other ingredients in it. I actually think it was the talc in it which helped it cope with my oils! But I could never get a shade match that was quite right so I quit. You might like to give this one a shot. It’s the loose powder mineral kind in a jar. I think they still sell it?

I really recommend Avene Cleanance Anti Shine lotion as a primer. It is GREAT. Seems to find that balance between moisture and mattifying.

I would also recommend Clarins Loose Powder for setting. It is one of the best. That jar lasts AGES and you get a lovely puff with it. Worth the splurge. I would definitely repurchase.

I see a lot of people talking about epilators here and I’ve got to ask – how do you avoid in grown hairs when using an epilator regularly? I used to epilate and I ended up with such bad in grown hairs despite all sorts of exfoliating that I had to stop.

Yup I had the same problem epilating my legs, the in grown hairs were a nightmare. I don’t have a problem when epilating my arms though.

I found waxing at home to be a painful chore that took too long with dodgy results. I think you should refine your shaving routine. I use a Schick Quattro and shave with hair conditioner. I know some girls swear by mens razors actually.

Kind of related: my partner has recently changed the way he shaves. He switched from cartridge mens razors from the supermarket to the old fashioned kind which uses a single thin razor blades which you buy separately. He also uses a beautiful sandalwood shaving cream which he now lathers with a brush. It takes him longer to shave but he now gets hardly any razor burn or irritation. I really think that what you shave with can influence how your skin reacts.

Topic: Skincare / IPL skin treatment for pigmentation

Thanks SoMuchPretty for your info, this is awesome!
I have fair skin with faded freckles and pigmentation marks showing across my cheeks and nose.
But there is so much sun damage that shows up on woods lamps.
Hopefully you skin looks great now after your latest procedure!

You’re welcome. If your pigmentation is quite light, IPL may not pick it up. It does well where the colour contrast between the problem area and your natural skin tone is high. Do some more research, find reputable clinics (I would recommend those staffed by actual Drs), and take advantage of free consultations.

In the meantime, be sure to protect your skin from the sun every day. :)

Voting ends in 29 days.

The site is so laggy at the moment!! Just voted in the first category and waiting for the site to take me to the many other categories – this could be a long night.

I’ve given up! It’s sooooooo sloooowwwww…….

Aw try again later! I’m multitasking, * clicks and whilst waiting for next category, looks down at textbook *.

I’m about halfway there and the points will be very handy for me so I’ll keep at it :)

Topic: Talkback / WANTED: 10 MEMBERS FOR A NEW DISCOVERY BAG

Do we need to complete a survey as well?
I saw a survey link if you’re part of a BH Trial Team. Is it the same for the Discovery Bag?
Thanks! :)

You should just write the reviews for the products. I didn’t do a survey when I got my discovery bag.

Thanks Imi11! I just want to make sure I get to do all the requirements as I don’t want to be disqualified for future Discovery Bags or Trial Team. That will be really horrible!!

Does anyone know when can we start posting a review for the MOMMA products and Sukin Oil?
I still can’t find them on the product list and deadline is on Aug 4.
Thanks!

Topic: Talkback / Priceline 40% off Skincare! What is on your wishlist???

My online order finally arrived! I was swayed as well to try the Indeed Labs Pepta Bright, Hydraluron Moisture Jelly and Innoxa Super Sensitive Toner. I’ve been reading your comments how good they are so I decided to try it out since I’m running low already on serum, moisturiser and toner.
I also got the Biore Charcoal Cleanser and Garnier Micellar Water that I’ve been eyeing out for quite some time and this sale is the perfect excuse for me to buy them.
The Olay Total Effects Cream and Regenerist Cleansing is for my mom and hopefully she’ll like it.
Here’s the pic of what I got:

Love to hear how you find the Hydraluron Moisture Jelly. I just started using Hydraluron now, my skin feels not as dry already

Adajetish, such a fabulous haul. I’ve heard such good things about sleek. Jealous of your Octowand. I’ve just bought a VS Sassoon Goddess waves and a Yogi 3 in 1 Curling Wand.

The Antipodes and nuxe oil are on my to try list too.

500 pages of this thread that is a lot of shopping!
