Yay! My electricity is back on!

Apparently quite a few people were fooled by that photoshopped photo of the harbour bridge!

I don’t know what the hold up was with our power, because the lines around the corner don’t feed our place ~ we have power and there are still no lines on those poles!

Glad to hear your electricity is finally on AJ!

I was shopping at Coles so I could refill our fridge when that new hailstorm hit yesterday. The lights went on and off in the supermarket and I thought ‘oh no’ because I didn’t want to get home with new meat and milk and find another blackout and no fridge again at home. So I didn’t buy as much as I planned to (just in case the electricity was gone again!). But all was okay when I got home. Hubby and the kids had thoughfully collected some hail and put it in the newly cleaned out and empty freezer for me to see.

Ausgrid turned up around dusk yesterday to start fixing our power. They’d barely started when the thunderstorm hit. They came back after the storm, and we finally got power after 1am.

We’ll be spending all day today trying to get things back to normal, but it will take weeks to really get back to normal. 🙁

My parents on the central coast of NSW still haven’t got power. At least I’ve got siblings who live close to them. I feel for you others without a proper shower in days!

Still no power.

Last shower I had was luke warm, on Thursday morning. My son last had a shower after school Thursday.

Neighbours across the street have run their generator virtually continuously and our bedroom is at the front of the house, so I’m really short on sleep. 🙁

I’ve got some friends on the northern beaches that are still without power. She also said that she got the last of the warm water for a shower on Thursday too.

Where we are Brisbane, our power is underground which I think every suburb should have these days. We might get the odd power off but nothing like I used to get when living in Sydney nearly all my life. Used to hate when we lost power. The longest we went was 10 days and it was horrible so certainly feel for you AJ.
