I haven`t heard of that saying Elmorules. I`ve heard of blow in, but not blow fly.

i lived in the city up an till 88 . then moved bush it;s so layed back my fav saying is see a blow fly it means visitor, lol

Yeah ladies at least we`ve managed to make an interesting thread out of a stupid post!! I`m still reminiscing on all the funny country sayings we have back home…

This is like chinese whispers you know what I mean….start the conversation with one thing and before long we`ve got a story of our very own lol….

Now what were we testing again oh that`s right our humour lol…lol….lol…luuurrv it!

[laughs] I think it`s funny watching how easily a conversation can diverge! Although, I guess it`s more interesting than the original topic…

I`ve been living in the city for 10 years now, and I`ll still say things that make people go `huh?`, and they seem like such obvious comments to me, but city people have never heard of them.

The funny thing is when you`re from the country you don`t realise that not everyone says these things!
I lived in the country until I was about 21, and then moved to the city about 6 years ago when I met my husband, it was really only then that I realised I`m a country bumpkin and we have our own unique language.
My fave unique saying from my hometown is:
`down the line` (that means down towards the city, or anywhere with traffic lights really)
