Can’t get “Search” button to work

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Laptop and I have never been able to get the “search”
(search products and reviews) button to work.
I have entered “foundation”, Avon, etc. but all I get is “Search Products and Reviews” and the rest is blank.

Can someone please tell me what I need to enter; type of product or brand name ?

Your help is appreciated because when I want to write a review, I have to go through every review page on the type of product, to find it. When there’s heaps of pages, say on “cleansers”, it can be very daunting.

I can’t find where to search the forums! Normal search for forums doesn’t work anymore and for memory there used to be a search bar for forums only on the right hand side. Any ideas or am I just blindly missing the obvious???

Normally you have to use the search option right at the top of the page then you can filter through blogs, forums, reviews etc.

I know that’s how it used to be but from my computer it is only letting me filter by product, review or article. I even tried using the word forum in the search also :/

BTW, changing subject now……when a Member posts an image, can it be as large as 1024 pixels; large enough for another Member to make an A4 print to draw from ? I want to put up a new post asking Members for pet dog photos but it must be 1024 pixels or else the images are useless.

Unfortunately, no. Whatever size the image starts off, if it is wider than the maximum width defined in the forum, it will be scaled down to that width. It it’s narrower it’s left as is.

The only time you get images wider than that is when they are not uploaded but embedded, meaning that the image is on another site and it’s just a link to that other site that is posted in the forum here.

Thanks for the information *AliceJ..*. Do you think providing BH Members with an email address to send their photos to will be allowed on BH ? I have already been given permission to ask for doggie pictures from BH Members in a post that I have yet to put up.

That will be ok Arty Girl, if you are providing an email address for members to send a pic if they want to and if you have already asked for permission (assuming you contacted someone at BH) then there won’t be a problem with that. I will send you one of my boy when your post goes up 🙂

Thanks Zaralis. Yes, I have asked someone at BH and I will use a non-identifying email address (you can’t be too careful nowadays).

Now there are two posts that I will put up tomorrow and did you know that there must be a 1hr lapse between new posts ? I found that out when I created this one and wanted to add another new one straight after.

What browser are you using Arty Girl?

    My browser is Firefox, *Zaralis*.

I think the size of the pictures is scaled before it’s posted unfortunately, although another member might be more familiar with this subject as I’m not 100% sure.

Have you tried clearing your cookies and browser data? Might help, I can’t think of another reason why the search data wouldn’t show up.

I have just asked my husband about this and he thinks that “Ad Block” may be preventing the Search button from working. If that is the case, I will use Claire88‘s suggestion. I will use “Products”, then the brand name.

Arty Girl, I use the “search beautyheaven” button right at the top of the screen – that seems to work best since the site was revamped. It’s in the middle, near your name at the very top – scroll up as far as you can go and then it’s in the middle. Good luck.

I’ve just tried that *Trish_D*. I typed in “foundation” and I got the words “Search results” and a blank screen.

Sorry, Arty Girl and also sorry for the late reply – hope you’re having more success now.
