Would love to try. Love reviewing/trying beauty products to find that most amazing product that i probably would never have know about.

I did all my reviews last night and all have been published except for the one for La Mav. I wonder if this means we’ll get longer to test it before finalising our reviews?

My review for the La Mav Vit-C Advanced Nightly Repair Nectar still hasn’t been published. Could it be because I gave it 3 stars? Maybe bh is waiting for La Mav to respond to my review like brands do at times. Anyone else?

I’m also wondering if they’re waiting on a response from La Mav. In my review I mentioned that I wasn’t 100% sure if it was the nectar that was causing my breakout and that I’d stop using it a while and then reintroduce it to be sure. Maybe I’ll need to resubmit my review once I’ve done that.
No idea really! Just hope this doesn’t exclude me from future discovery bags as I had all my reviews in on time, just that one wasn’t published 🙁

Oh and one more thing, how do you ladies review the Sigma brush? Somehow i couldnt find it on the product list.

If you can’t do a review for a specific product in your Discovery Bag I’d email Izzy – the BH Staff member who took the original emails and explain. There were some items missing in the gorgeous DB I got some time ago and when I emailed Carli it was fixed.

Discovery Bags really are so special, aren’t they?

I noticed that BH have updated the La Mav pages so it includes newer products – the serum from the Discovery Bag is listed on there now.

Getting all my reviews done. Sad to say the product I was most excited about didn’t work well for my skin – the La Mav serum. Pretty sure it was causing me to breakout, and that rarely happens with my skin. It was so nice to use though!

It’s funny you should say that as I’m breaking out at the moment (which is a rarity for me) and I’m wondering if it’s the La Mav. I wish I had longer to review as I’d hate to say it’s the cause and find out later that it wasn’t… I wonder if this is like school and you can ask BH for an ‘extension’ lol.
Seriously though, I’d like to stop using it for about a week and then try again so I’d know for sure.

I am breaking out too, but not as bad. I have few acnes at the moment, but to be honest i am still not sure if La Mav is the cause. I agree with you maydayismyday it would be great if we had longer to review, as the new products sometime react after 2 or more weeks.

I’m thinking it may be too rich for my skin. There are a lot of various oils (jojoba, apricot kernal, evening primrose, acai, rosehip, and more) in the serum.
    Here’s the ingredient list:
*Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, *Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot Kernel) Oil, Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (Vitamin C); *Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E – plant derived); *Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Pulp Oil; *Vaccinium Myrtillus (Bilberry) Seed Oil, *Borago Officinalis (Borage) Seed Oil; *Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Oil; *Camellia Oleifera (Camellia) Oil; *Calophyllum Inophyllum (Tamanu) Nut Oil, *Vaccinium Vitis-Idaea (Lingonberry) Seed Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, *Essential Oils of – *Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang), *Cymbopogon Citratus (Lemongrass), *Boswellia Carteri (Frankincense), *Commiphora Myrrha (Myrrh), *Citrus Sinensis (Orange Sweet) and *Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil.

Maybe it’s simply too much for my skin. I do agree with you ladies though. I wish we had more time to figure it out.

Pure Jojoba oil is pretty good for oily skin as long as you don’t use too much, however that serum contains a lot of vitamin c & e. I know that Vitamin e breaks a lot of people out when it’s in an oil like that so I would bet that vitamin e is the culprit (plus it looks like it contains a lot of it)

Can I just say SeaSiren nailpolish is plain brilliant? To test it, I wore it with Base Coat and Top Coat on one hand, without coats on the other hand. It’s been a week, no chips on hands with coats. Even the hand without coats has shown much less chips than I would expect after a 6 days.
compare this with Essie that I wore last week and with coats, chipped within 1 day. With OPI, I usually get 3-4 days without chip. But Seasiren is beating all of them hands down.
I’m never buying any other brand.

Thats excellent lasting power. I havent really heard of this SeaSiren brand before, but sounds impressive.

I’m sorry to hear that some of you are breaking out from the La Mav serum. Because the first ingredient is jojoba, I’m guessing that is the main culprit. Or the whole combination of oils is an overload for your skin. Perhaps in your reviews, you could state that yours is an interim review and that you will do an update once you’ve stopped and reintroduced the oil. I also would email La Mav and ask them how to use their serum for oily skin. They might suggest something such as using it once a week.

I did a quick Google on “jojoba oil causing acne” and the first website suggested mixing jojoba with aloe vera gel or a moisturiser that you know won’t clog your skin. It said that jojoba oil was too much on its own.

I don’t think that the short timeframe we have for a skin care product is enough.
