I wouldn’t worry about it if you don’t love the product Ellelily. Honest reviews are what matters and help others pick products that are right for them.

I did just a did review for a moisturiser, I really wanted to like cause I felt it was a good moisturiser for my skin but the scent made me dislike what was otherwise a good product, so I just noted that in my review.

Ellelily, I often write reviews on products that most people love, yet I find something with them that doesn’t agree with me. Everyone adores the Maybelline Color Tattoos, yet the one that I tried made my eyes sensitive (I’m about to write a similar review on the Metal Tattoos). I often write reviews about foundations that are cakey on my dry skin. Some lip glosses sting my lips, and some lipsticks make my lips feel extremely dry. Most of my reviews for rectractable eye and lip pencils are negative because they always break. I tried a razor which everyone in BH loved, yet I got a terrible shaving burn from it. People write rave reviews on Essence products, yet I haven’t had much success with them.

Anyone with a sensitivity to ingredients will always appreciate reading a review where someone says something negative. It will save them the expense of buying a product that might cause them a reaction. When I’ve read a negative review on a product that I was thinking about buying, I always feel gratitude to the person that wrote the review. They have saved me wasting money on a product that probably wouldn’t have worked for me.

There are some great products in these bags and perhaps I hope that one day I will apply and may get lucky enough to do this type of trial. As some times I do a trail; like the one i just did and I seem to be the only one who often, seems to say that everything works so very well. But I write things as I see them. As I did find that i had abit of an issue with the shampoo that I trialed but everyone else said it was great and think its the best that they have used. And I was the only one so far that didnt do a great big rave about it. And some times that worries me as I think that perhaps I am different or that i give reviews that I truely believe is the way it worked or didnt work for me.

Products don’t work for everyone. I’ve experienced poor results with some products that others have loved, like moisturisers or shampoos that have caused me to have an allergic reaction. As long as you’re honest that’s all most companies want, even if you’re the only person out of 100 that didn’t like the product, there’s still 99 that did, and that’s still going to be positive for them.

Hi Ellelily, there is nothing wrong with being in the minority when it comes to trialling products. I’m sure companies with a great product find it works great for 99% of users – but it’s that 1% that have an issue with it, and genuine companies DO want to know about it, so they can investigate.

I’ve had an issue with a product trialled (sensitivity to eye cream that settled down after a few days and is now fine) and the company was only too willing to get the details from me.
Also used a hair colour that Everyone raved about and I found it to be horrible. Then I read through the pages of reviews and discovered a couple of others who had found it terrible.

Of course different people like different aromas and textures etc and that’s purely a personal choice which is why there can be so many different shampoos or body washes that essentially do the same job.

Never feel you have done something wrong by not being in the majority. Tell it like it is!
    Honesty IS the best policy.

I hate to say this as I sound like I just arrived on the last ship from nowhere but what is a discovery bag? If anyone can shed some light on that I would appreciate it. Thanks Beauties.

It’s a package from Beautyheaven with random beauty products in it (between 4 to 6 products usually) for a select few people to trial and write a review on all the products. A new bag is released each month. We’re notified in the forums that we can email if we’d like to apply to be a discovery bag reviewer, and then 10 people are chosen randomly (mostly randomly – depending on what the products are).

It’s fun because you never know what is going to be in the discovery bag, and they’re full sized samples to trial and review.

Hope that helps a little Ausblonde 😀

How are you all going with the trial products?

Can anyone see the product link for the QVS hair turban and the Shanga Sun Glow so we can submit our reviews?

I’ve just wandered in to ask the same question!

Tweezers – love them. Really good quality and great value.
Epochas – hmmm not sure. I’m a bit of a sceptic when it comes to these kinda things. The cream is lovely, but I’m not really in love with the serum.
Hair thingy – been using them for years, and will continue to do so.
Shanga sun glow – not something I would have purchased myself, but I really like it. I had a really good play with it yesterday. I used it as an eye shadow and as a bronzer, and it looked really good. I put some on my lips with some lip balm but wasn’t keen on it. But overall, it’s really lovely and I’m happy to have had the opportunity to try something new.

I don’t know how to find where to put the Shanga and Qvs Turban reviews either. Also I am not sure about the Epochas set either because I can find the products seperately but I can’t see the boxed set anywhere on beauty heaven. Do I put the review in under both the cream and the serum?

Sometimes BH lists the products at the very last moment, so I will wait until later today to see if they have listed the hair turban and Shanga. I will review the Epochas separately if BH doesn’t list them as a set.. I wish I had a few more days with the Epochas as it’s a 10 day trial and it will be only day 7 when my review has to be submitted tomorrow.

Thank you I will check later this afternoon to see if they are there.
