WANTED: 10 MEMBERS FOR A NEW DISCOVERY BAG

NOOOO IT ISN’T A NEW ONE.

BUMPING an old thread because I want to say Thank you, to dream-angels for her review of the MOMMA Semi-matte mineral powder. I loved being on this Discovery Bag and the MOMMA mineral powder was as good a match as I’ve had but I didn’t reorder it as it was great but not perfect.

Having recently thrown up a wide area with an alcohol allergy means I need alcohol free makeup and skin care. The semi-matte mineral powder from MOMMA is alcohol and nano particle free as are lots of their products so I sent an order and I’m delighted!!!! More subtle effect than the normal powder and has exactly the finish I like. It’s an Australian brand too. One problem solved!! Thanks again, dream-angels.

I apologise in advance if I throw anyone into chaos thinking there’s a new Discovery Bag on offer.

*Update to Yes To….. company* I couldn’t be more impressed. I had a reaction to the Yes To Grapefruit scrub that came in our August Discovery Bag and the company offered to send a replacement product, even though I told them I hadn’t paid for the scrub. A parcel arrived with two full size Yes To Cucumber products – their range for sensitive skin. There was a cleanser, which is really fabulous and a mask, which I haven’t used yet.

I am so impressed. They now have a convert to their sensitive skin range and my sincere thanks.

*Trish_D* that’s good to know. I didn’t like the scrub as much as other BH ladies, because I think the scrub contains sunflower seed oil. And I prefer oil-free cleansers for my pimple-prone skin.I did get more pimples using the scrub, I don’t think it was an allergic reaction but just that it doesn’t suit me. I was told to email the company too. Haven’t contacted them yet but will soon

Thanks for the info re the mineral powder – I’m sure you’re right about undertone – hadn’t thought about it before you said that. It makes complete sense.

The new Discovery Bag – the one announced last week, has it’s own thread, Growing old, and this one is for the August Disc. Bag. The reason there are 2 at the same time is that there are some items still being addressed from the August Bag, as in the Yes To company going out of their way to assist and more information coming to light with the mineral powder. It happens occasionally, but not often that they run into each other.

*Stackcats* you did an excellent review with the MOMMA powder – loved all the reviews, girls, but was particularly impressed, stackcats, as you had problems with the powder and you’ve explained it all so well. I tried a heavier coverage with the powder today and didn’t like the result at all – so for me, a very soft coverage is the way to go but if you like or need a heavier coverage I can see that there could be a problem. I’m tossing up whether I’ll buy the Semi Matte (I think that’s what it’s called) I love the brush though – it’s different from anything that I have. I tried the powder with my usual powder brush and it didn’t work as well as with the one we were sent. That might have been because my powder brush is a lot bigger so it didn’t fit into the smaller container very well to pick up the powder.

Still really thrilled about the Discovery Bag as a whole and will be singing the praises of the Sukin oil for a long time!

Personally I think the undertone is the issue. I have Medium Beige and it’s very orange even with just one thin layer. It’s a shame I can’t really use the rest of the powder.

I haven’t tried many mineral foundations, but before the trial I was using Innoxa mineral foundation (medium). It’s a little darker than my natural skintone, but I think it has a more neutral undertone. Under natural sunlight just one thin layer of the Innoxa foundation looks great
