How to become Beuaty Guru Status?

Anyone her like to share how they were invited to become a beauty guru. Is there anything special you have to do or do they just randomly select you? I’ve been an active member for a while now and am up to beauty buff status and I desperately want to be guru status

I read somewhere that you need to actively participate on forums, like commenting every day (with something constructive).

I think that’s what it is Jassy. If bh see you active on the website participating in the forums, reviewing products and commenting on articles, then you’ll have a pretty good chance of stepping up to Beauty Guru status.

Yes I think you are correct x I read that too

What are the benefits of becoming a guru!? I’m new? 🙂

There aren’t really tangible benefits as such, it’s just recognition from BH of ongoing contributions to the site. It is identified by the icon next to a person’s user name. It usually takes some years to get to that point.

I do love the look of that crown 😀

As others have mentioned, guru is invite-only. As far as I know, if you actively contribute positively to the site, you’ll eventually get an invite. I’m pretty sure that the recent invitees had at least 500 posts, many reviews and comments on editorial posts. It’s also necessary to complete all of the required details in your profile.

I’ve also noticed that spelling and grammar seem to be considered fairly important in posts, comments and reviews.

I don’t mean to sound nasty, but why the desperation to get to guru status? It’s not as if you get to be queen of the castle whilst everyone else is a dirty rascal, if you get my drift. Personally, I couldn’t care less about whether or not I make it to Beauty Guru ever as I know I’m not always an active participant on here. I just like coming here because everyone is nice & friendly & I get to indulge in my relatively newfound love of beauty. Seeking status for the sake of it just rings hollow IMO.

She might just really love the site or perhaps she thinks that you get extra opportunities to trial things as a beauty guru. Either way I don’t think it is up to us to question her motivation, unless she was here points grabbing, which considering she has posted a fair bit, she obviously isn’t there for that purpose. As I said, I think it would be nice to be a beauty guru, not for the status but to have contribution to the site recognized, but as I said above, I am happy and honored to be a member regardless. PLus I know I am not active enough forum wise to warrant consideration. I like being a member because people are supportive and answer others questions, usually without judgement.

Yeah I would love a promotion! But I don’t comment every single day. So I highly doubt I will get up to Beauty Guru! But either way I love BH and am happy to be a member regardless
