Did you notice something different this month?

So we still don’t know if this is the new DB method or if it was just Vanessa having her time off. Hmm.

In all my years as a member, it’s just a little over a year that I’ve been a forumite here. Consequently, I missed all the DBs. My first & only DB was the generous September one with the mighty muk curler. I do think it’s fairer for members who aren’t forumites. The only problem is there hasn’t been much discussion on how users are finding the actual products. In September, there was a lot of hype & chatter about the muk. In October, there was hype & chatter over the epilator. Currently, beautorium is stealing all the usual DB thunder.

I was lucky enough to get an invite for the Nov DB. It came as a complete surprise, as like others, I was waiting for the new thread to start for the Nov DB. BH never started a thread for the Nov DB, and nobody mentioned receiving an invite, so I didn’t know if we were allowed to say anything or not.

I was interested to try the oil cleanser. I’d read a lot of positive reviews of the OCM, but after trying it, I don’t think it’s for me. Maybe if I wore heavy makeup ….

It’ll be interesting to see how BH handles the Dec DB – invites again or back to the application method?

I was also one of the lucky members to receive the Novemeber Discovery Bag email. I thought it was a bit unusual and I emailed back, hoping I was going to be lucky .

I was going to post it on the forums but I must admit I wasn’t sure if I was actually going to receive the bag of goodies because the email arrived a few weeks ago and reviews were due yesterday and I didn’t get the DB until Tuesday, so I only had one day to test them out.
The only thing I can think of is because Beautorium is around the corner maybe it was a bit easier to do the DB this way this time around?

I agree, BH is a fantastic platform to interact with other beauty enthusiasts and trial new things.
I’m really greatful to be part of this community and whenever I see invite I get really excited and greatful. I hope to get DB invite soon (fingers crossed).

I guess for every person who comments in the forums there are another 3 or 4 or more who silently applies, as sometimes we never seem to hear from the lucky people.

I’m just throwing suggestions out there, maybe a quarterly or bi-monthly application process maybe beneficial for all people?
It could save some admin time on behalf of BH and also allow a slightly longer window of application say 2 days as opposed to 1 day?
Or even being really tricky BH could do it via a small survey link, which could then help find ideal candidates ( I remember one time a few ppl got waxing kit, who where not necessarily interested in home waxing)

It was a complete surprise to get the invite, I had thought perhaps they used unsuccessful applicants from last month.
It was my first ever DB, and it was all followed up by an Emily, not Vanessa.

I’ve been lucky enough to participate in 2 DB over the last few years. I do think an invite is a very fair way of doing it and I’m happy either way 🙂

Hmmm, I think it’s a fair way of doing it, especially since they must be very busy, just a shock to see the reviews all of a sudden 🙂

And here I am checking the threads for a call out for the DB, oh well, life goes on.

I was looking out for this months DB and thought they would but up post again so I’m disappointed didn’t get chance but I think BH picking people and inviting them like trial team is a more fair policy abd that way everyone can get chance.

Really hoping I get chance to review Dec Discovery Bag and it’s got good things.

I MIGHT be able to shed a bit of light on why it was done this way. When I emailed Vanessa to find out if I’d missed a post-trial survey link, I got an out of office reply. If it was me and I knew I had time off coming up, I’d want to get my stuff done beforehand too. Perhaps this is the case with the November Discovery Bag?
