The pain I get is pretty much centred, it’s contractive and clunky with a bit of gurgling noises.
I do feel like it’s food and emotion based (scared, excited, stressed, nervous emotions etc). And usually happens late afternoon to night time and in the presence of friends – like at a friends place or out to dinner.
I’ll have to quickly get home once I start to notice I feel uncomfortable before I get too bad, or I’ll be stuck where I am until it’s all over. The worst of it usually is for half an hour, but one time it was for a whole hour.
Although I can eat the foods that I believe to have caused these attacks/flare ups and be completely fine. It’s very confusing. My last flare up I was having nibblies at a friends place on Christmas eve (crackers, cabanossi, gherkins, dips etc.) but I’ve had all those things before and been completely fine.
I believe I’m lactose intolerant, so I have cut milk and ice cream out. I think cheese is ok, as long as it’s hard cheese.
I’ve always wondered if I had endometriosis, my ultrasound didn’t pick anything up, but I’ve always had bad period pain since the beginning, so I’ve been taking the pill without breaks for as long as I can remember, which is usually one of the options for relief of endo anyway. I possibly haven’t gotten progressively worse because of this if I do have endo. Will be good to speak to this OB-GYN next week about that side of things
I won’t give up on getting multiple opinions if that’s what it takes, but I’m glad to hear your hysterectomies have provided some relief to you both.
Kassalee – no I haven’t taken Roaccutane (would have been something I would have considered at one point, but I have a terrible needle phobia and you have to have regular blood tests). I have however been taking Diane, which is supposed to help with problematic skin, but this has only been for the last 6 months or so, so I it can’t be the underlier.
