My skin specialist appointment is today and I get him to deal with my sun spots. He’s hard to get in to see (popular?!) so I only see him around once a year. In between seeing him I find that using SPF for prevention to help and I especially find the Dermalogica range Pure with their high SPF, great serum and lovely night cream a huge help to control things. It’s not cheap these little sun spots!! ; /

I have been noticing heaps on my hands and face. Just wondering if anyone’s been to a dermatologist or have had results using the IPL? 🙂

I too have sun spots appearing now that I am getting a bit older.
I have tried just about everything to fade these tiresome spots, but so far, nothing has worked.

I have been told by a beauty therapist that about the only thing to fade them is Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment.

However, this is a bit expensive for me!!

Thanks for your advice! haha, yea, I think i`ll look into cheaper alternatives for now.

Also, may I ask at what age you started getting sun spots, and did you use much sun protection when you were younger?

My first advice would be to get checked out by a dermatologist, wouldn’t want them to be anything sinister.
I would then try a retinol cream, which I’d get the dermatologist to prescribe while I was there. Two birds with one stone.

John Plunkett’s Sunspot Cream has been around for decades – I remember my Grandmother used to use it.
Has you Mum had them checked out by a Doctor first to ensure they are not cancerous? I think that should be her first step.
I believe should could try Bio Oil as well.

Thanks for your comment! I`ll look into that cream!
I`m pretty sure its just a result of hyperpigmentation and aging
Speaking of bio oil, i`ve been using it for some of my acne scars, for a couple of weeks. Does it actually work in fading scars?
