Neutrogena ultra sheer sunscreen

Hello beauties 🙂
Just wanted to know if anyone has tried the Neutrogena ultra sheer sunscreen for the face? I want to try this out for an everyday sunscreen but not sure if it should also act as a moisturizer?
Thx a lot 🙂

I have very sensitive skin and this is the only one that does work on my face without causing breakouts, redness or burning. This is the sunscreen I live by now after going through so many that caused skin irritations.

I had a similar reaction to Rei_ but mine began as soon as I put it on. OK – I do have sensitive skin but honestly thought this would be OK. I got it on special so threw it out as I didn’t want anyone else to have a reaction.
Didn’t think about contacting the comapany as you did, swooping – maybe I should have although the cost was low.

if you have sensitive skin, be careful. I wasn’t even using it on my face, just on my arms/chest, and it gave me a lumpy itchy rash! I used it for a while, not realising this was the cause…

and although it says something about “clean feeling” or something like that, I still found it just like any other sunscreen and I would not want that on my face.

I must say though Neutrogena was very good with the customer service, they apologised, asked questions, then sent a $20 refund and a pack to send the product back.

I don’t know what the different is between all the neutrogena formulations, but I’ve tried a few. I have combination/sensitive/acne-prone skin and here’s my experience:

*Neutrogena Ultra Sheer (the face + body version): I love this sunscreen for my body and I also like to use it on my face for sport and going to the beach etc. It’s non-greasy and doesn’t irritate my skin like most sunscreens

*Neutrogena healthy defense Normal/Combination: SPF30+ daily moisturiser. This is my go to moisturiser/sunscreen in the summer months. It is indeed moisturising and the sun protection is great. Because it is non-greasy I can safely slather on the recommended 1 teaspoon to get lots of protection.

*Neutrogena healthy defence Combination/Oily: SPF30+ daily moisturizer. High in alcohol and drying! Do not like.

*Neutrogena ageless intensives anti-wrinkle day cream: SPF15+ daily moisturiser with hyaluronic acid and retinol. This one is fantastic during the winter where I don’t a strong SPF30+ (I wear a tinted mosituriser over the top with 30+ anyway). Similar texture to the healthy defense moisturiser but contains hyaluronic acid – great for winter dehydrated skin and retinol – which helps keep blackheads and pimples at bay for me.

As you can see, I have used a lot of neutrogena products. As my skin is really sensitive to sunscreens, I am very picky and have found their ranges great. I also find that the texture of their sunscreens is great for my combination skin. Not too heavy. Also not too drying (apart from the combo/oily version).

Sorry I couldn’t answer your question exactly but does give you some good neutrogena options!!

I’ve used this as well and I found that after I stepped out into the sun, within 5-10 minutes, my face would turn red 🙁
    So I stopped using it.
Gave it away to a friend and she absolutely loves it as well.

I used to use this. I used to have many bottles because they were such a handbag friendly size and it was spf30+, whic used to be quite rare to come by. However, after a while I realised that my skin kind of reacted to it, which was why I was always slightly red.

However, having said that I gave all of my bottles to a friend with oily skin and she absolutely loves it. Especially since it’s so light and doesn’t clog up your pores. It also has excellent sun protection.

In terms of using it as a moisturiser, I personally don’t use directly on my skin, but mainly because I have dry skin and I like to have a hydrating layer in betwee. I guess it’s up to you and your skin.
