Good zinc sunscreen??

Does anyone have any recs for a good zinc sunscreen preferably with natural ingredients + no nasties?

I’ve tried IZ which I think smells bad and is also loaded with chemicals. I found Wotnot and UV Naturals to be disgustingly heavy/greasy. Hissyfit clogged up my pores, and Natural Instinct and Cancer Council made my face go white! Help?

Invisible Zinc for face and body claims to have no mineral oil so it might be slightly less greasy than other zinc products. For an oil-free sunscreen with high protection factor the Cancer Council have a new product, Aerosol oil-free Sunscreen with spf 50+ this can be sprayed all over the body and then sprayed into hands and applied to the face with fingertips.

I use the Natural Instinct SPF 30+ Micro Mineral Sunscreen for my body when I’m at the beach. I was out on the beach on a burning hot day of nearly 40 and didn’t get burned with this on. I applied twice in 2 hours.
They also have a face one too! Haven’t tried that but I’d like to try.

I use ASAP for my face on cooler days.
I use IZ on those really hot sweaty days.

Yep have not been able to find many sunscreens that actually withstand the heat other than Invizible Zinc that doesn’t budge but for a lotion type one I like the Alpha-H Daily Essential coz it’s water and sweat resistant, but unfortunately its not zinc and zinc is still my sunscreen ingredient of choice coz it works better than anything else for me 🙂

@SoMuchPretty, Wow it’s weird that IZ made you go greasy because I found it to be the lightest out of all the zinc sunscreens I have tried.. Think I may scout out that Dermalogica one though because I love their products 🙂 Hoping their sunscreen is the same, maybe I’ll be allowed to try a tester instore?

@Missteaaddict, thanks for all your suggestions!! Hmmm I’d love to try the Graham’s one, I wonder if my local health food shop has it. Will have to find that out 🙂 May also try out the Endota spa, price shouldn’t be an issue since I got loaded with Myer/DJs gift cards over the Christmas period, hehe 🙂 and thanks for your rec on the Banana boat body sunscreen! 😀

@Cornflakegirl1, Good to hear that Graham’s products are great, it only makes me want to try the sunscreen more : )

Zinc based sunscreens are thick and greasy because unfortunately that’s a trait of zinc. Some are thinner and less greasy than others because of the additives used. Apparently Wotnot is the least greasy of the all natural ones. Other brands like Invisible Zinc and Banana Boat are not so greasy but less natural.

Peppermint Magazine listed the following Zinc sunscreens, I haven’t tried these though, they’re meant to be pretty good though.

Natural Instinct SPF 30+ Micro Mineral Sunscreen – a bit white.
Graham’s Natural Alternatives SPF 30+ – Really good, not greasy or ghostly white, probably the most highly recommended one.
Miessence SPF 15+ Outdoor Balm – Slightly white but non sticky.
Endota Spa Glycolic SPF 15+ – Great but very pricey, designed for facial use I think.

They also recomended Wotnot and UV Naturals though. I would personally try the Grahams if you can find it. It’s only $26.95 for 150ml. I think a good body sunscreen is the Banana Boat Mineral Sensitive because it’s no greasy and only leaves you a little white.

Pretty much all zinc sunscreens I’ve tried are thick and I don’t like the feel of them on my skin. Some also make me greasy which is really odd… (Invisible Zinc does that to me). I’ve tried all the ones you have except for WotNot. I’ve also tried Le Tan’s zinc sunscreen and wasn’t overly impressed with that either. Dermalogica do one that I am curious to try but I’m a bit scared to spend all that money on something I might not like… Need a sample or something!
